What's with the hype with Tank Davis?

I honestly don't see what's so special about this guy. Last night's performance showed that his career won't go far and that he'll be the next Adrien Broner in the future. And even then Broner looked more impressive at age 22.
I can see why Tank wants no part with the Matrix. Not only would Lomachenko beat Davis easily he'll paint a beautiful picture and toy with him mercilessly at the same time.

IMO, it's for the best that Tank had to vacate the title. There was no point to Loma-Davis other than the belt- H2H, it's such a difference in class as to be a waste of time. Point blank, I don't think he's ready for Berchelt or Corrales, let alone Loma. I'd go so far as to say he was fortunate Siri or Tevin Farmer wasn't across from him.

I genuinely hope he gets some proper guidance going forward and isn't too much of a knucklehead to follow it- the whole PPV experience, from the fight to the post fight interviews, was painful to watch. Dude got a lot of success and hype before he was mentally ready enough to handle the weight of what being a champion entails. Hope he fixes that going forward.

He looked poor last night, but don't get it twisted, he looked very impressive in his previous two fights.

He might end up like Don Curry.

Don't even think about comparing the 2. Curry at least has had a very impressive streak before falling down like a chandelier. And even then he's still had a career that's deserving for the hall of fame.

Wouldn't say he's special. He's fast, strong, can take a punch, like a lot of other fighters.
Think his weight advantage was a big factor for him so far, but he clearly can't make that weight anymore anyway, so he's eventually going to be boxing better guys who are also a lot taller than him with way longer reach and weighing just as much. He'll struggle when he starts meeting the top guys.

He's blessed with great physical gifts and natural talent: Plenty of power, speed, a nice array of punches, and I'll be very surprised if he's bereft of a good chin with a noggin like that. Damn thing looks like a bowling ball lol. But last night's fight should've been, at worst, a no contest and the referee is clearly on the take. That's the second time in recent months a referee has waved a fight off on a foul and this one stinks to high heaven too. Disgraceful.

Youre counting Rigondeaux or Ward's stoppage?
