You mean aside from the fact that he did in fact overcome a fighter the same height and 20 lean pounds heavier than Lewis? There's probably no reason in particular to think it would happen, but there's also no well founded reason to think it's wildly implausible, as opposed to mildly implausible. (People who harp on weight and nonexistent "scientific training" are in exigent need of a remedial crash course in basic science literacy, statistical fallacies, and propositional logic.)

Sharkey is one of the few heavyweights from that period who might have had significant success against the modern super heavyweights. Realistically Lewis is probably a step too far though.
