that Conor might actually be the better man, and that floyd was completely shot i was worried for the legacy of boxing
I disagree Lito. This wasn't a boxing match. This was only business for a huge payday and using the Boxing forum to collect. Another sad day for Boxing for me.
No. It was fairly obvious Floyd was letting him work and figuring him out. The only surprise was Mcgregor's ability to slip and land etc, which I think was more than anyone including Floyd probably expected.
Conor did very well indeed, He fought the best and did quite well indeed, they need to rematch in the Ufc.
MMA is in the process of becoming an Olympic sport. You shouldn't fix what isn't broken.Didn't yo mama teach yo anything?
Everybody that knows sh it about boxing, knew Conor could win an early round or two (he won the first three on my card) but that Floyd would figure him out by the 4th, like he does every fighter. We also knew that Conor would be gassed by the 6th and at that moment, Floyd would be able to pick him apart. I wouldn't say I was worried after 3 rds but I was much more interested than I thought I'd be. It was a pretty entertaining fight.
Good points about Conor's accomplishment but regarding a rematch in UFC, hahahahahahahahahahahaahhahaahahahahhaha!
If I can get it here, definitely. I think it's going to be the fight of the year. Canelo looks in beast mode in training and Golovkin has wanted this for a LONG time I'm cheering for Golovkin but Canelo has a decent chance for the upset.
I'm afraid the sanctioning bodies don't agree. That is the problem as only the mindless actually want to see actual street fighting. We may as well make a sport out of dogs fighting again, if we are to go down that path. The Cambridge definition of a sport - a game, competition, or activity needing physical effort and skill that is played or done according to rules, for enjoyment and/or as a job: The less rules there are, the further away it becomes from being a sport, which is why UFC remains the underbelly of sports entertainment that only the unclothe consider to be legitimate/ The reason why there is more damage in the ring, is because boxers are trained to hit harder through punches and absorb punches. In mma they have brittle chins and glass hearts, so they don't last as long. Nothing to do with the way the fight is played out. There is no comparison to the brutality seen in UFC. Do you see a whole leap of boxers with disfigured and deformed faces sporting cauliflower ears because they have been subjected to animalistic beatings? I'm sure if eye gouging and biting was allowed in MMA, you'd still tell me there was an high level of skill and art involved. It's not just the grappling I have issue with, it's the fighters themselves who consist mostly of thugs, hardened criminals and con artists who get in there and maul their way to victory. Then you have Dana White, whose own Mother can't stand the sight of him. Lastly you have their disgusting moronic filthy fans consisting of racists, skinheads, uneducated drop outs and wannabe tough guys who think they are something because they do a few sessions of mma training and sportfull sleeve tattoos. Honestly if mma kept to their side of the fence and stopped trying to live off boxing and their fighters, then I'd have a bit more respect and wouldn't feel the need to expose it for what it truly is. However they can't stop themselves from trying to compare it to boxing and claiming it is superior when clearly empirical evidence shows that is not and never will be.
The fact that you are comparing street fighting to MMA is a travesty. Secondly I wouldn't be surprised if MMA has just as many, if not more rules than boxing.
