that statement sounds allot better than ' mma fighters are just failed boxers'. there is no mma vs boxing debate im just defending mma as a boxing fan aswell, i dont see why it has to be one vs the other. but as far as strikers go, youre missing a couple things here 1. boxing is cultural someone from cuba is going to a boxer.. someone from thailand is going to be a thai boxer, thats just how it goes, thai boxers are better off in mma than boxing, they utilize clinch, knees, elbows, kicks ect 2. same thing with dutch fighters they produce some of the worlds best kickboxers because kickboxing is popular with the dutch. boxing is defiantly the best pay but that isnt the motivating factor for people, its cultural in allot of instances. 3. same thing with nfl its big in the US, but in other countrys its about futbol. lastly you cant seriously be mad at me, for you saying such a broad moronic statement like 'all mma fighters are failed boxers' all i did was call you out on such a dumb statement, cause lets face it, whether you meant it or not...it was dumb i like both sports, i also like most bjj as i recently been training with that ever since my job requires me to look presentable i cant spar like i used to when i was a teen. i have a massive respect for both sports and its very sad to see how ignorant some boxing fans are, i assure you martial aritst have all the respect for boxers.
Conor's technic was almost comical. You'd have to be pretty stupid to think that any man could beat a top professional boxer, let alone the best of his era, although he can't even throw a proper punch.
theres been dozens of boxers that have had to take medication because of it, and you really have no idea whether or not roger or sr have too, so stop pretending like you do. willie pep joe louis meldrick taylor floyd patterson jimmy ellis leon spinks mike quarry all guys with Dementia pugilistica, the same form of dementia goodridge has that comes from brain damage.. lol want to try again? the more barbaric sport is that leaves people more mentally crippled and possibly dead, like i said you cant refute the facts.
Floyd threw very few punches during the first 3 rounds. He basically covered up giving Connor a target. It was so obvious that Floyd was carrying Connor. Floyd does not fight that way. That is not his game.
My original statement would only be applicable to mma guys that actually tried boxing and didn't make it. If you didn't even try boxing then how could it apply to you, of course that would be moronic but that's not what I was getting at. As far as respect goes, I also used to watch mma a lot but as most of the legends fell by the wayside I lost interest. I know mma well enough to know that's it's hard. Brutally hard and especially unforgiving. That's also why I know that most people, at least the well adjusted kind, would jump at the chance to make an easier living. In terms of sparring, have you tried using a facebar headgear? I don't have much in the way of abrasions even after hard sparring, sometimes just a little blue around the eyes cause of the thumb portion of the glove getting through.
It just shows you how little Floyd thought of Connor when he decided to give a show instead of doing a normal shut out.. The biggest joke is those who believe otherwise.... Well that and Connor doing his best David Price impression in the last couple of rounds..
More like the fact is the event shouldn't have been staged as a real fight in the first place. You really believe a no fight novice won any round over an all time great without being allowed to. Good for you....
the only fact i know is that connor power was gone after 4 round and Floyd could have kept goin for another 20 rounds lmao
I'm afraid it's you that needs to try again. All those guys were from prehistoric times when boxers were still competing in 15 round bouts. You won't find present day fighters who have retired with that disorder. The profile of UFC fighters will begin to build up the longer the sport is allowed to go on before the regulators finally see sense and place a ban on the savagery which should be illegal.
no ****. anybody that doesn't realize that is deluding themselves. Floyd tried 2 different strategies, philly shell and then rope a dope and nothing was working. Eventually he resorted to a mexican style since he couldn't outbox a McGregor with his usual game. The only thing that allowed Mayweather to win that match up is the fact that a McGregor cannot fight for 12 rounds and the high pace made it even worse. to be fair to Floyd, McGregor was a better athlete and knew what Floyd was bringing, but Floyd did not know what McGregor was bringing.
You have no idea what kind of shape I am in or what I watch. Just like you have no idea what martial arts I am trained in, yet you run with assumptions based on nothing. The difference is I feel no need to boast of my physique or of my ability to defend myself. Unlike the overcompensating mma fanboys who always feel the need to harp on about how hard they've been training in the gym and what they'd do to someone in a street fight. Pathetic!
