    How's this one play out?. The Cooney that took on Holmes, replacing FIRPO against Dempsey?
    Can Cooney hurt the dempster, drop him? Or would Jack get to Cooney early first and nail him.?

    Dempsey would probably approach Cooney more cautiously than he approached Firpo, and the result would be an early night.

    How did Cooney get so great? He never beat a top ten heavyweight, who was ranked at the time!

    If Dempsey fights the same way he did against Firpo and Cooney gets him against the ropes in no man's land with a bad guard, Gerry has good chance KO'ing him.

    If Dempsey fights his disciplined best, he wins, by either mid round stoppage or decision.

    Dempsey will know he got hit but cooney was pretty easy to hit , and didn't have a good chin, by round 2 things heat up and cooney goes down...cooney could hit like hell with his left but that was about all he had, thanks

    The punch to hit Dempsey with was a right hand which Firpo had and Cooney lacked. Dempsey by early KO.
