What's harder to deal with when fighting bigger men? Their power or their chin?

Picking one factor over the other would be hard, and maybe most depend on you own style of boxing.

But by studying the average KO % in the weight classes, it seems as the power increased more than the ability to take a punch. The KO % is higher is HW than the other, with SW being the lowest.

That would make the increase of power bigger than the increase of punch resistance when moving up in weight and therefore a bigger factor compared to your own abilities (being in a smaller weight class).

interesting point. although, i would add that speed also decreases as you move up in weight so slipping with punches becomes less effective when minimizing damage.

I think it's about equal on average, depends on styles. If you are a puncher who relies on KOs to win, then it'd be your opponent's chin. If you have a weak chin, then the bigger man's power is the problem.

There are other factors too - e.g. the weight of the bigger man when he leans on you, the strength in the clinch of the bigger man, etc.

why u asking that? u being a returd again? shame on u. there are many facial bones.

"facial bones have anything to do with punch .." u r being returd on purpose? yes or no?

sure. but the momentum passed to the brain in its fluid environment is major. Resisting movement of the head during a blow is pacing momentum onto that bag of brain. Thats way more serious than the skull bones taking it. Skulls can take a good few punches. The brain wont do that, it will cut out on you. You need to think to box. A man without a working brain cannot think. Ask BCS.

energy cannot be created or destroyed.

You should know this. or maybe einstein was wrong all along and u r right in that it "simply goes away".

    congrats on your future Nobel.

no of course not. There are other factors too, obviously. No more being simpleton thinking the human body is A +B =C, please. Its a mass of interacting factors, always. u cant be dumb enough to present this question after trumping einstein in your last line.

Like has already been said, KO's come from shots you don't see. Or from combination punches, the brain reacts funny to pain in two seperate areas of the body at the same time or in quick succession. There is a good example of this in martial arts, kick someone in the shin followed by a fast open handed slap to the face will 8/10 put someone asleep if done right.

Another example, a 3-4hr tattoo session will often render someone asleep no matter how big you are. The body just can only take so much before it gives up.

This back and forth was flawed pages ago when you decided to take the "anatomy line" rather than the industry vernacular and then refined the matter further to height and reach whilst ignoring functioning athletic muscle mass and power to weight ratio.

I suggest you check more carefully what you write rather than proceed to argue flawed observations that suit your view - unless you have fought competitively / had to work against someone higher than your division to prep for a certain style of opponent to make these statements?

I didnt refine anything. It has always been multifactorial. To pretend that someone was claiming something was down to a single factor where the multifactorial human body is involved, is facetious - dont be that.

Gee all fancy words aside I could have sworn I read you a couple of pages ago going on about two factors and pooh poohing everything else hence others taking issue. Two factors, height and reach wasn't it?
