@Chuck Norris Please make specific picks for WBK Series 13 fights... No rush and all picks will be updated and posted regularly. Obviously the first pick between you and your opponent takes away certain options. Any other questions then please shout. Scoring and rules have both been posted on Page 797 - just above this. League picks will always take precedent and the picks can't differ, i.e KO for league and UD for WBK Good luck... So basically, from all these selected fights i gotta choose a specific pick. Okay i got, i see that you are my opponent.
I would assume so, since it is a Top Rank card. This is the tweet from Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler This content is protected
This is why records shouldn't be the main focus of the rankings @nellybc. That's the man that just knocked you the **** out which rightfully made you last in the rankings. Then you beat the #6 ranked fighter out of 7 and then you suddenly get ranked #1 which makes no sense haha. I don't care if you win the championship or not, if you do, congrats. I just want the WBK to be as fair as possible and that leap in the rankings made no sense whatsoever.
Hi @nellybc, @PinoyProdigy, and all others involved in the WBK, I have a suggestion to resolve the issue of WBK rankings and title challenges. My proposal is: 1. ELO ratings of each participant will be maintained by myself from past results, updating after every round. This seems the fairest way to consider the ranking of the opponent, and weight more recent results heavily without forgetting about past resume. I realize the alphabet orgs don't do anything of the sort but they make a right mess of their and I don't see why we shouldn't do something better / fairer for ourselves. 2. The WBK continues with the pairings proposed by @nellybc for the next round only. I am the biggest "loser" out of that compared to Pinoy's proposed fixtures, so I consider myself qualified to make this suggestion. 3. Future pairings are done as follows: Champion vs highest ranked contender (i.e. excl. the champion) #2 vs #3 ranked contenders etc. The only exception will be that in the rare case of the system ordering an immediate rematch, the pairings will be manipulated to avoid this while remaining as close to the system pattern as possible. Since future pairings will be made by the ELO system, the #2 vs #3 match in @nellybc's pairings may not determine the next title contender - that will depend on ELO. Obviously the champion will still be determined by lineage just as before -no change there. 4. Rule change proposal: A prediction of SD (result MD, opponent pick not MD) becomes a 10-8 KD round instead of 10-9; likewise a prediction of MD (result SD, opponent pick not SD) becomes a 10-8 KD round. Given that the exact match is a instant KO this is fairer I think. I also think we had it this way at the start of the year - it's not explicit in the current rules. Please read and consider, thanks! If you think it is, in theory, a good idea, please also consider whether KO/TKO losses should be weighted more than points wins. Finally, any proposal may be vetoed by @nellybc. This is merely a suggestion, however I am keen to hear input from: @Dfaulds @Chuck Norris @BoxingABC1 @moparfan @Matt Petley
I hadn't committed yet, but a young undefeated Mexican prospect fighting on a Zanfer card in Mexico made me lean towards an Ocampo decision, where the judges would favor Ocampo's volume and pressure over Ponomarev's cleaner but less consistent workrate.
