I don't think so, Pac didn't do so bad, Ward speaks real good English and ain't getting no love. Star power, Conner and Mayweather has it by truckload. People just wanna be around them.

This fight just exposed how mentally weaker MMA fighters are. McGregor quit like a *****.

That's what all these MMA guys will never understand. Boxing isn't so much about fighting, it's about building character and mental strength. I don't care about what works in a street fight, I don't care about their rolling around with other men, I only care about what builds a strong character and that's boxing. **** martial arts and **** Bruce Lee, boxing is a sport with real athletes and athletes will always be tougher and more competitive than plain fighters.

There's no quitting in boxing while MMA (due to the nature of the sport) revolves around tapping out.

Boxing is also a 12 round marathon. A bully like McGregor could never make it in boxing. He would fold in front of the first tough journeyman he would face.

Also look at all those MMA guys giving participation trophies. What the hell is that? Participating in sport is all about winning. You don't go into contests that you intend to lose.

How many other welters or jr middles would have beaten Mayweather last weekend?

I say quite a few. He was slower, lost the first 3 rounds and only came on strong when the 0-0 McGregor who does not hit that hard with boxing gloves ran out of steam.

Don't buy some fanboy excuse that Mayweather carried him. No one carries a guy by being out hit in the first three rounds, as this means with fair judging, you need to win 7 of the next 9 rounds to take a 7-5 decision!

He would have lost to many. The guy is almost 41.

I absolutely believe he carried McGregor. Mayweather didn't even bother throwing. You could see between rounds he was fine when he beamed at the camera. Are we really saying it's more likely someone hwo looked as awful as Conor legit took 3 rounds off Mayweather, than the idea that Mayweather carried him for a few rounds to make this farce look less one-sided than it really was?

I think there was a combination of carrying him and some signs of age, It's well know Connor gasses, to think the game plan wasn't to let him gas is silly. That said floyd fought a totally different style of fighting, he went to Connor the whole fight, we didn't get to see him box so its hard to judge how he would have looked fighting as he normally does .

Floyd knew and everybody else that Conor does not have gas for 12rounds(Paulie,Floyd mole confirmed this) and when Floyd tasted Conor "power" Floyd knew Conor has nothing to offer him. Played it safe and let Conor gas himself and put up a show.

Floyd is notoriosly slow starter. Put never ever he plods forward and don't throw anything almost. Also Floyd looked horrible at the beginning, that was also part of the gameplan

give people back from the Pac fight, and Floyd could leave ring on high note and not boring win boring decision.

this was win win for both. Both make $$$,both looked "good". WWE scripted
    style of fight.

Floyd fight first 5-6 rounds like grandfather. Then when Conor gassed
    Floyd also found his "youth"

just look Floyd perfomance on that fight. You can see Floyd was like amateur at the beginning, then magically towards end changed to normal Floyd.

Media etc keeps saying that Mcgregor did good. It's fake news. They never tell the truth.

And again in this case it's good. If eveeybody would call it like it is. Eveybody would feel scammed

but yeah, just believe Conor was fighting good. Even full gas tank Conor looked ****** and punches had no snap at all.

He didn't exactly "carry" him, he just had zero respect for Conor and walked him down while doing as little as possible because he knew that Conor would quit eventually.

What you saw was a retired Floyd who came for a paycheck because he was never going to lose this "fight" no matter what. This wasn't Floyd coming out of retirement, this was a Floyd who is still retired doing some sparring. He didn't even spar in the month leading to the fight.

It's impossible to judge how Floyd would look against elite fighters based on this "fight" because he would prepare totally differently although my guess is that he's shot and that there are a lot of guys who could beat him right now. It would be hard for him to go through a proper camp without injuries at this point that's why he barely trained for Conor.

Conor quit and completely folded mentally. It was embarrassing to watch. He stopped throwing punches and hoped that the ref will save him, he didn't want to be in there when Floyd started to go for the kill. Typical bully who has zero fight in him when things don't go his way.

I never understood why people find this guy likeable. He has zero heart. There's also this fake story about him being from some humble working class background when in reality he comes from a privileged middle class family, he faced zero adversity in his life. He's another mentally weak UFC hype job like Ronda.

Might we see more UFC hype jobs facing older past their prime famous boxers in a 12 round boxing rules match?

This event made a lot of money...so I think so.

Conor is the only one left who is a draw. Other UFC fighters are simply too unknown to be interesting for these sort of spectacle fights.

Well, there's Brock Lesnar too but his boxing is beyond horrible by boxing standards and he doesn't like to get hit. Maybe if there's some complete freakshow fight like Brock Lesnar vs current James Toney in boxing but you would somehow have to sell it.

I think potentially a kickboxing match between an MMA fighter and a boxer could sell because it would be intriguing. Maybe something like Overeem vs Joshua in a kickboxing fight. That would actually be a fun fight.

A lot of people were saying that Byrd should've let it go on, well I guess he did the right thing stopping it when he did otherwise it could've been even worse for McGregor
