Great news huh?! GGG said in a recent interview that he feels good and plans on terrorizing certain haters for a good while longer. LOL! 5-6 more years he said. After he flatlines Canelo... who do you see him brutalizing? Hopefully a 'Mr Nice Guy' Jacobs rematch to shut him up once and for all. Maybe Floyd will wanna back up his **** talk and step in with Gennady! Or do you think he'll just stay in his lane and box 0-0-0 MMA guys? Do you think GGG will break Hopkins middleweight title defense record? I think he'll not only break it... but destroy it Fun times ahead huh?! Thoughts?
Believe it when I see it. Let's see how the 16th of September goes. Depending on the outcome, he'll surely change his mind, win, lose or draw. Remember SRR, SRL, Mayweather, Hatton etc. and their retirement proclamations? Didn't exactly hold up! TIME WILL TELL!
Everything seems lined up for GGG assuming he wins ov course. *Cucknelo rematch *Unification of WBO title *Jacobs rematch *Charlo mandatory *Derevyanchenko mandatory
It depends on how much he declines ... Fighters say these things but the truth is nobody really knows. Personally I don't expect more than another 3 years maximum.
Man a Derevyanchenko fight will be INSANE. Those are the two best middleweights in the world right there.
They would just complain that Derevyanchenko brings no money to the table and GGG's gate would suffer because it is two E.E.'s. Then they would go off on some weird Wlad/Ibragimov tangent.
After he gets schooled and the **** beat out of him by canelo in a few weeks he'll have a change of heart.
He may fight for another 5-6 years, don't mean he gon' win for another 5-6 years. He wins a split decision tomorrow, and y'all will be SHOCKED how slow he looks.
he's talking out of all that adrenaline while training for the biggest fight of his life. we'll see how motivated he is after stomping Canelo and having more money than any reasonable person could ever spend.
That's neat. If Golovkin continues to fight then it gives a path to the upcoming Middleweight stars to prove their legitimacy. A win over Golovkin, even in a couple years after he has faded, will be a top tier win that brings a lot of attention. Spence/Thurman would be bigger names right now had Bradley/Pacquiao/Mayweather opted to give them a shot. It took Golovkin years to build his reputation to what it is. Every time a top fighter retires while avoiding the next stars of the division the momentum gets reset.
His people are not interested in Jacobs or Charlo. They want a Canelo rematch, the remaining belt, and then will see what other big money fight materializes. If the money is at 168, they will look for it there. At the same time they want to unify and surpass the Hopkins streak. This is their strategy going forward.
I don't see that, he is 36 and sign of declining has set in. I still think he beats Canelo but at one point your reflexes and stamina will not be the same. If he wins I hope he chase the other belt to become undisputed. After that either rematch Canelo or move up only for big money fights.
