boxing vs mma wouldn't take place in a boxing match...it would take place in a mma fight where both sides can utilize their weapons. a boxer vs mma figher in a boxing match is just a boxing match...being mma fighter is irrelevant under that rule set.
yes but holm was a mma figher not a pure boxer, she was already training mma full time years before that fight at jackson winks mma gym, and dedicated her whole life to mma, not boxing. did her boxing experience help? absolutely, the same way her grappling experience helped her not get tossed on her head. regardless any specialist weather it be boxing, bjj, wrestling ect. takes the time to learn other martial arts they become a mixed martial artist, if holm went in there and beat rousey with strictly boxing experience then you have a point..but she didn't she used her defensive wrestling, and even took rousey down once, and she used her kickboxing throughout the whole fight. that was mma figher vs mma fighers. not boxer vs mma figher thats a false narrative, that even holm admitted too i will link the interview with helwani where she says 'im not a boxer, im a mma fighter'
an mma fighter will never do **** in a boxing ring. that's what we learnt one week ago. That, and that connor cant hit for **** too.
I would say even more. Probably, prime top female fighters in his weight can beat the hell out of connor.
I will say Floyd needs to fight him in the cage for a fuller picture. He'd make another couple of hundred mil from the fanboys.
This. Floyd had been on the decline since the first Maidana fight. His timing and handspeed wasn't as sharp and his legs didn't have the same bounce. That said Floyd is a master at exploiting his opponents' weaknesses. It took Floyd a round or two to adjust to McGregor's height and reach, but once he did he carried McGregor the rest of the fight before stopping him with mercy. Floyd could've easily beat McGregor much worse, but showed restraint. Thurman, Spence, and Crawford have youth and power to their advantage But, even at 40 all three of these guys have weaknesses that Floyd could exploit. Thurman doesn't carry his power after the first couple of rounds and tends to struggle in the pocket. Spence's footwork is very sloppy and he waste a lot of energy. He almost gassed out against Kell. Crawford is the most versatile of the three, but I can't forget him struggling with Gamboa, who was inactive at the time. If Floyd had a tuneup he has a chance against all three. That said just because Floyd could pull it off doesn't mean he should. At 40+ any pro fighter is pushing their luck trying to compete with young elite fighters. Hopkins pushed his luck one too many times and ended up on his back outside the ring.

Diaz who is 6,1 and 180lbs. You played that foolish argument once and it was destroyed, don't try and play it with someone else.
She was the Pound for Pound Queen of women's boxing. She punked Rousey boxing off the back foot. You are saying that Floyd vs. Conor and Couture vs. Toney isn't representative of "boxing vs. MMA" because one of the two individuals was not acclimated to the sport. You are right. My entire point is that Rousey vs. Holm is the best example because one of the two fighters had a couple years to properly train and prep for the discipline. We agree. And that is why it's the best example we've ever had of "boxing vs. MMA."
Its called instant gratification culture which has been massed produced and catered towards the uneducated, the idler, the junkfood consumer, the steroid abuser and generally just those who do not possess the desire to work hard for anything, they just want it NOW! This is why Conor is such a hero, a God figure if you will, to his legion of fans, since he was more or less an overnight success in that 2nd class grubby low brow sport of his. From picking up welfare cheques to fighting for Championship titles on the world stage, undoubtedly the bums, deadbeats and welfare dependant who live with the entitled mindset of expecting something for nothing, can identify with that and choose to live vicariously through him because it fits into their dreams that one day they can change from being a zero to a hero.
Floyd wasn't hitting Connor with his proper shots. He pulled it all until the end blatantly..He isn't taking what all other Floyd took for 10 rounds.
If that is not the best example then you have to point us in the right direction. What do you deem to be a better example and give us reasons please.
