I see a lot of parallels. If the outcome isn't the same a lot of stylistic patterns will be. What do you think? How is it different? How is it similar?
So you see a lot of parallels between two of the most skilled, accurate, defensively gifted, technically well rounded P4P best fighters in the sport with two decent LWW's that barely beat Judah and lost to Herrera? I see no parallel whatsoever, other than you really really want the outcome to be similar, sorry Bogotazo, it won't be. Matthysse's power was overrated, that was obvious to anyone who saw the Alexander, Judah and Ajose fights, GGG's isn't, and unlike Matty, if his power doesn't get the job done, he can rely on his plethora of skills, or if worst comes to worst, his jab alone. Danny's skill level was average, anyone who saw the first 3 rounds of the Khan match and the last 4 rounds of the Judah match, the Theophane match and the first Morales match knows that, aside from slick southpaw counter puncher and Floyd Mayweather, I haven't seen Canelo dropping rounds to shot to **** has beens or okay journeymen like Danny.
I don't think that highly of mathyse tbh, how could you compare him to GGG? Mathyse was never dominance in any weight class he campaigned in.
I don't want it to be similar because I'd prefer Golovkin to win. But I see stylistic parallels. Matthysse was a puncher with a full arsenal who operated behind a stiff jab and had everyone enamoured with his ability to score KO's. Garcia on the other end is flat-footed and has serious problems with movers, and many thought he would be too static and not potent enough in his own offense to give Matthysse any pause coming in and winging. Many say this about Canelo. It turned out Matthysse was pretty hittable in exchanges, didn't crumble Garcia from the first hard punch landed, and didn't have much of an answer to Garcia's timing and combinations, which is also what Canelo excels at. Sure, you could say each is worse than the fighters I'm comparing them to. That doesn't really disrupt the analogy.
Golovkin would be a little like Garcia/Matthysse, but Golovkin has more variety of punches, hits much harder, and is more active...................if it were to come to a brawl, I would take Golovkin's chin over Alvarez' anyday, his chin is proven, Alvarez' is not. I just hope this fight is not fixed, it will be in Vegas, so expect anything.....................still, Golovkin by knockout!!!!!!!
You don't think Canelo's chin is proven? I suppose it hasn't been tested to the extreme, but I also see no reason to doubt it. Jose Miguel Cotto rocking him was a long long time ago.
I do. With the forum underdog coming through big, by beating the unbeatable force this forum seems to think GGG really is.
You don't see it being a competitive affair between a hard-hitting pressure fighter with a good jab and a flat-footed counter puncher with good timing and combinations? What fight do you think it will resemble then? Someone said Chavez-Camacho but I doubt it's that one-sided.
Gotcha, although I think this forum is pretty evenly split between GGG and Canelo. GGG is by no means unbeatable. Danny Jacobs proved that.
