Wut? Fighting Berto killed his career until Conor blew up. Had Conor not been around, Floyd would still have been retired. Floyd did "Pretty Boy" numbers for the Berto fight. Numbers which were shocking because everybody knew it was a joke of a fight. Floyd hadn't done numbers that low since 2006!
But Berto had already lost to Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero and to Karass by tko. So what was the point besides having another easy victory??
Yeah definitely. I think a younger Floyd was a bit too fast with too good of footwork. But, Crawford's ability to switch stances would present Floyd problems with his defense. Interesting fight for sure.
I think he took Berto as an easy victory. I don't argue THAT fight was a clear cherry pick and path of least resistance. Berto did have a big name though. I just don't blame Floyd for cherry picking that fight. I get it. He was just finishing out his contract. Don't think he had any more motivation to box.
Floyd was 38 and finishing his 5 fight contract.. I believe he was really retired and had no intention of returning.. Then some MMA star challenges him to a boxing match that could make him +200million so he, at 40, took it.. How many other 40 year old boxers are fighting top competition theses days? He has no point of fighting anymore.. He has nothing to prove, he's old, and richer than he ever thought.. Why keep fighting? Should he fight until he lose then retire?
I think he'll fight McG in the cage. The cash is too big and he loves cash. His boxing 50-0 stays intact anyway.
It's not a case of "he had no intention of coming back", because who would have bought his fights? He was never going to face the man of the moment in GGG, so he had to stay retired.
Yall crazy if y'all believe he just want to fight forever, but also worried about losing his 0.. Guys like Thurman is only competition to him because he's old.. And he was never going to fight GGG anyway.. GGG is a middle weight and Floyd would and could not make that weight.. And GGG going to 154 would only hurt Floyd because it "wasn't his best weight"...
It's make no difference to Floyd's legacy if he fought GGG at 54 because it wouldn't be the first time he has made someone fight outside of their natural weigh class, is it?
Of course he's rematching McGregor. This fight is about to break 5m domestic buys (or at minimum the pac v may record) and it was an entertaining , competitive fight that ended in a TKO. McGregor will "improve his conditioning and be able to go a full 12" and claim "to have figured out the blueprint" and this rematch will guaranteed make hundreds of millions more for him. He will be able to demand a $150-200m guarantee as well.
It is not up to me to enlighten you. Enlighten yourself and stop quoting Fiddy cause his mouth ain't no prayer book.
Naw, I am just not gonna do any work for you. The information is out for anybody to peruse. You made a statement that he should invest in properties and businesses and I said that he has. The man has financial advisors that I am sure are a lot sharper than you so that's a no brainer. All I know is what I read and I am sure you can read so go read.
Again, you've missed my point. If he has so much good advice given to him, how come he keeps going broke?
