... show how history got back on track with the way things eventually played out.
No fantasy fights allowed, only bouts that really happened.
    Like this -

Jimmy Young gets the decision against Muhammad Ali.
Young defends against Ron Lyle, George Foreman, and maybe even Jody Ballard in a gimme defense before losing the title to Ken Norton.
Norton loses the title to Holmes.
    History carries on normally.

    Another one -

Carl Williams gets the decision against Larry Holmes.
Williams defends against undefeated Jesse Ferguson before losing an upset to Mike Weaver.
    Weaver loses to Bonecrusher Smith.
Smith defends against Ferguson, David Bey, and Tim Witherspoon before losing the title to Mike Tyson.
History carries on normally. (More or less... I doubt if Michael Spinks would have moved up to heavyweight had this scenario played out for real.)

Tyson gets the knockout victory over Buster Douglas
Tyson defends against Holyfield and gets knocked out
The Earth begins to rotate in retrograde motion
    John Lennon doesn't get shot
    Jim Morrison doesn't OD
Kennady survives by use of a body double
We are just a simulation in the eye of the Crawling King Snake

Young didn't deserve the decision against Ali,imo. The Holmes v Williams one is more problematic.

    Two immediately spring to mind:

    1) Marvis Frazier is not robbed by the referee with that ludicrous premature stoppage against Tyson, rallies and becomes the first to beat Tyson in a thoroughly one-sided trouncing putting Mike in the hospital for 28 days with severe fist trauma, and extends Frazier family legacy by becoming the dominant champion of the 90's

"Sizzlin' Marvis" is now mentioned in the same breath as Ali and Louis as the great triumvirate of candidates for G.O.AT.

    2) Instead of firing Kevin Rooney in 1987, Tyson wisely keeps him on and stays focused, blows away an overwhelmed Little Mac in the first round instead of going down himself in the second after that infamous barrage of left-rights followed by that sparkling uppercut, Mac never makes history as the first strawweight to move up and capture the lineal heavyweight crown.

Alas, that is not the world we live in...

Cooney doesn't feign injury, fights Shavers on the Cuevas-Hearns undercard. Shavers punch (jab right left hook soft tap of any kind) finds Cooney s CHIN of China, sparks Gerry out just like Bobick against NORTON, and no one ever has to listen or read from Cooney s loonies about how the "Cooney of the Holmes fight" would dominate fantasy fight history.

Everyone knows Mr. Mojo Risin faked his death, went and liked in Saskatchewan, Canada for 25 years as a WILDERNESS guide and mink farmer, retired, moved to New York in the mid 90s and got a tv show as his new identity Bill O'REILLY. Can't you see they look Exactly alike.

Hearns stays on his feet and survives leanards barrage to win by decision in the first fight. Carries on dominating then gives leanard a rematch. He wins again without getting robbed via "draw". Moves up in weight, fights hagler. This time his hand doesnt break and he focuses on the cut over haglers face. He shreds and flicks away to eventually become the first to stop Hagler.

Beats Mugabi, Duran etc. Now hes undisputed at welter and middle. Hes feeling himself now and wins a decision over Spinx for the light heavy title. He outdoes the great ray robinson! But he doesnt stop there and beats the black off of larry holmes! As he is celebrating at a press conference, Holmes jumps off a balcony and drop kicks him...

Andrew Golota wins a 12-round decision over Chris Byrd for the IBF title.

Next time out, Golota scores two knockdowns en route to unifying the IBF and WBA titles with a 12-round decision over John Ruiz.

Lamon Brewster, after scoring a shock KO win over Wlad Klitschko for the vacant WBO belt, unifies the WBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight titles by stopping Andrew Golota in one round.
