I think it's even worse than it looks at first glance. If it is being streamed on Youtube not only do they lose the revenue that a broadcaster brings but they also lose the production. This will likely mean that Fat Mick will be responsible for the broadcast itself...this is unbelievable. A man who is incapable of arranging a simple announcement is apparently now going to arrange for all the production, the Youtube PPV and the link to PPV in NZ.
There are many ways to watch YouTube these days. It's 2017. It's not hard to connect a smart device to a TV. You can easily watch it on the TV from the comfort of your sofa. I'm sure a lot of bars and pubs will be broadcasting it on their screens too.
jeez if they are paying parker a million they are gonna lose a shed load of £, lets says 50,000 buys (being ambitious). that's £500,000 from ppv money. Tickets lets say on average 5000 X £50 (i'm not sure what the average ticket price is and how many will be sold etc) that's £250,000. not sure where any other revenue comes from.
Yes I know that but how many will do that. This will flop massively. Who knows who hughie fury is. It's going to be a disaster. No promotion or business sense. They must be praying to get the Joshua fight next. Just to get there money back.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-...cuts-short-holiday-to-prepare-for-Hughie-Fury This is an older article but has Duco talking about Purse splits etc... From memory FW bid 1.5 or 1.6 million when he lost the purse bid for the first fine. So i imagine the Fury's/Hennessey would of bid more to bring it to the UK... But reading the above article they clearly overestimated Fury's draw in the UK...
Fury's getting close to a million as well, this is going to be a financial disaster. If Fury wins then it pays off, if he loses then that's a big loss on the books for Hennessey.
Sponsors will likely bring in a fair amount. I still can't see where they will be making the rest from though. Maybe they are expecting a loss on profits or to break even, on the hope that Hughie wins the belt which leads to much better paydays. Big gamble if you ask me.
Even the boring fights are PPV now Ha ha ha Not good for the future of boxing given the plethora of sports out there for people to watch.
