Regardless what JDJ said about Kov is true or not. I don't think he supposed to give out camp secrets like that. Kovalev is still in the fight game and not retired.
If things didn't work out, it's best just to part ways without damaging reps on either sides.

This could damage his own reputation as well moving forward.

What did you think of Fluid Joy getting rid of his loyal masseur Ellerbe and cut man?

This. Kovalev brought this all on his self. Jackson did wonders for Kovalev, but Kovalev never gave him a shred of respect or credit. No fighter can train themselves regardless of how talented they are.

JDJ is a good trainer .If Kov a paid more attention and trained properly he might of done better.

I be honest. The only one I seen as a serious threat was Stevenson, with that one shot power in his left. He can land it hard in a clinch as well. Now after the Ward rematch, i'd defo have Beterbiev over him too, even though hes quite inexperienced in comparison. Shame really, Kov's at a stage where he isn't gonna learn or add to his game, and it seems his heads shot from it all. I don't know where he goes or who he should fight next !

I just hope he makes enough good money in his final fight/s to retire healthy and wealthy.

It has damaged his rep already. If I was a fighter and was looking for a trainer, JDJ would not have the personality or character i'd be looking for. I know my opinion don't mean ****, but it must strike everybody as really underhand by JDJ. Hes not strong enough to be a elite trainer, he would've walked otherwise

Kovalev might be an *******, but at least he is not a snake or a backstabber. Hopefully fighters will avoid Jackson like the plague after this.

I was wondering when something like this would come out.

Honestly, this doesn't make JDJ look good. I do think Kovalev is a dick; I believe I've commented before on this forum that I dislike his character and think that he isn't a good person. Great fighter, but he is rather unsettling at times. That being said, this interview actually makes me think less of JDJ. He says he stayed in the Kovalev camp because of Main Events. No. You stayed in that camp because of the money. I'm not a trainer, but when I think of the relationship between a fighter and their trainer I believe that if there is not camaraderie, mutual respect, and hard work being done in camp then the trainer should walk. That's what Sanchez did. JDJ was willing to compromise himself and work with someone he clearly doesn't even like for money. That is a red flag on his character.

The business about Ward's camp calling him to jump ship and him even considering it is dirty as hell. You signed up to train Kovalev. You do not stab him in the back. If you have a problem with him then leave. If you want to help Ward go to hise side after their fight. His behavior just paints him as a backstabber and he seems aware of that, but is willing to take that stigma that comes with it.

He sounds like he still wants to go to Ward's camp just by the way he talks about Ward. I don't think that is going to happen. Although I think JDJ is a much worse trainer than Virgil Hunter, if I was Ward I would trust Hunter and personally I wouldn't want to work with anyone that I can't trust. JDJ sounds like a bitter backstabber in this.

He goes on to give credit for the body work that Ward did. Look, not every single punch was low but clearly the punch that ended the fight was low. He calls Kovalev a quitter. Kovalev didn't quit; he wasn't even given the opportunity to quit in the first place. This sounds more like a man trying to discredit Kovalev and big up Ward.

I do think that the part about Kovalev having trouble making weight is true, but not because Kovalev is too big for LHW or anything. He is far from the biggest LHW in boxing right now. I think he just has a bad work ethic at times.

I'm curious to see how Kovalev responds and what he does next in his career if he continues it. I think this is going to be long and ugly. We may hear from Abel Sanchez as well, but I hope not because I don't want to see him stick his nose in something like this because it isn't his business and would make me think less of him and could also cause a strain on his relationship with Golovkin.

JDJ is a traitorous pile of ****, door swings both ways usually, Kovalev in all likelihood didn't trust the fickle JDJ but probably felt trapped and out of loyalty stuck with him, the build up to the fight distracted him and it all got to be too much and he lost interest. People can mentally check out when every card in the deck is stacked against them. Kovalev became disillusioned and took the bitter route after the BS decision and like McMahon said about Shawn Michaels, he lost his smile. He doesn't care anymore, and quite frankly, I don't blame him.

Duva was also stupid as hell when she didn't let Kovalev fire Jackson and hire a Russian trainer after the first fight.

Why people saying JDJ is a snake? are there other previous reports of this??

Abel Sanchez wasnt lying about Kov's past so I'm inclined to believe every word of this from Jackson. Was shocked at how dog**** Kov looked in the last fight and if he ever comes back he'll likely get folded again.

Kovalev was always known to be a bit of a dick. He was just 'The Krusher' in the ring and we all enjoyed watching him fight.

JDJ being a dick is a bit more of a surprise to me but he's proven it beyond doubt over the past year or so.

Finally - Ward is also a douchebag. In a totally different way to Kovalev and JDJ but he's a ***** too. Most top fighters are. The ones who aren't are the rare ones not the other other way around.

I'd agree....but Abel Sanchez basically said the exact same thing (in a less womanly fashion of course).

Hopkins, Mosley, no fighter he ever worked with had a bad thing to say about him ever. He was a stand up guy as a fighter too.
