Hahahaha. Yeah I've gone back to those two fights for laugh a couple of times... But my real fix is Khan/Prescott - NOTHING will EVER beat that.
Amanda Nunes is about as unappealing a woman as possible yet I get borderline aroused watching her beat up that vile, bombastic over privileged product of media propaganda Rousey.
Holly's KO of Rousey is joint-top of the most satisfying KO's in MMA history. The other is Hendo's over Bisping.
Hendo / Bisping is my personal favourite. Bisping was just really, really obnoxious back then, and Hendo was always more "regular guy" than "cage fighter. Dan's right hand should be banned as a weapon of mass destruction. It's absurd how hard he can hit.
Funnily enough... It's well documented that Hendo is a huge douche behind the scenes himself. At least Bisping revels in it, and has more or less made it his signature.. But yeah. Everyone and their mother wanted to see Bisping KO'd that night, and boy did he get KO'd lol.
I'll read up a bit more on Henderson. He always seemed OK to me. I'll be disappointed to find out that he is a dick.
Probably would be on par with someone like Gian Villante in all honesty.. Fringe contender. Product of his time. Would definitely be involved in a lot of great fights though. TBH. He wasn't near the best even in his own era, the same would hold true today.
@lufcrazy Where do you rate Kid Yamamoto? He's a natural 135 lber and the trailblazer for lower sub 155 weights, achieved some impressive things in 3 different weight classes. I'd say his trials stand the test of time and he ranks up with the best at 125-155.
Well he won a UFC tourney before the big pride boom so for a short while he was arguably the best HW.
It's hard to say because of the era he fought in, the names at that weight just didn't really exist like they did a few years later in WEC. He won the Heroes tournament and beat Uno in doing so who's clearly a good scalp, but not sure how he'd have done at the top level of any of the weight classes. Not so much old before his time but small before his time. Atleast Filho managed to pick up some top names on his ledger before becoming an addict, but Yamamoto doesn't really have any depth to his resume at all. We essentially have a small guy dominating a prime Uno. Is that enough to rank amongst the best ever? In such a shallow division it just might be. He's no Dominick Cruz, probably not even a Miguel Torres tbh.
