Pretty sure I know how this is going to go, but I'm curious nonetheless.

SRL vs. Hagler was a closer fight cause I actually had Hagler barely winning, but could see SRL winning fairly easily as well.

Watching the Duran vs. SRL fight, I've never come away thinking SRL could've won.

agreed srl-hagler .. could have gone either way and I'm satisfied with result as equally if Hagler won or draw.. That close for me...but Does anyone agree with JoJo Guerra's 118-110 for Leonard???? I just never saw that

Hagler looked a tired version of himself from the off. Mugabi showed he was wearing out in the fight previous. Leonard v Duran were to peaking animals

I had Duran beating SRL without controversy in a competitive bout. I also had SRL beating Hagler without controversy in a competitive bout. Very similar, maybe Hagler - SRL was a tad closer but not much in it for me.

Leonard was not peak yet.. He was still rather inexperience, by fighting Duran's fight. Had he fought his fight he wins, but it would have been hard.. The first fight taught Ray what he had to do and he did it and would beat Duran everytime out after that.

Why is this even a question? Duran beat Leonard CLEAR AS DAY in Montreal.

Whereas Leonard-Hagler literally could have gone either way. I did have Ray winning by a frog's hair, but it coulda just as easily gone to Hagler.

This is just the excuse Leonard fans use in an attempt to brush off the loss and take away credit from Roberto.

Leonard was very much in his prime when he lost to Duran.

He damn sure looked like a peak fighter prior to Montreal when he took apart the great Benitez, and then obliterated Dave Boy Green.

Leonard wasn't peak in the first Duran fight. He was 100% peak when he first retired. He had not that long entered his "prime" when he fought Duran.

didn't he want the rematch asap because Duran blew up after a fight ?? Shrewd! Also I don't think Duran was on it as much for the rematch. His approach and mind-set was not the same..Taking nothing away from SRL, who probably would've beat a peak Duran anyway !

Duran-Leonard I the infinitely better fight. But Leonard-Hagler was definitely a closer one. Debate still rages to this day over who won Leonard-Hagler, whereas I've never actually spoken to a boxing fan who thinks Leonard won in Montreal.

Out of interest, are there any amongst us here who give it to Ray in Montreal?

I am actually OK with the decision. That being said I would be equally OK if it went to Hagler or a Draw .. That's how close I think it was.. Wish you read my post , because I was asking what people thought of JoJo Guerra's 118-110 for Leonard scorecard?? I am completely uncomfortable with that and I think it's BS

Do you mean on your score card? About even. 2 points either way for the winners.

The amazing thing about Leonard to me is he really didn't pick the right fight all of the time. It took Dundee to tell him you blowing it to stop boxing with Hearns and take him out.

With Leonard's speed, hook, uppercut and body punching Duran was in a bad way before options out in the second match. Leonard to me let Duran fight his fight, which is why he lost the 1st match to him.
