True, the shorter fighter usually suffers from a reach disadvantage and required that he close the distant to get on the inside where he is supposed to be more effective. What I found unusual with Hearn's was that he had his opponents usual backing up since they feared his power. So that made beating him even more difficult. In the case of Maravilla Martinez vs Paul Williams we have Martinez coming forward anyway but circling now and then-something that Haggler didn't need to do against Hearns. But then we have that devastating KO where the much taller William's, topples like a felled tree. I'm sure that the vast majority Carnera's, Vitali, Wladimir, thet they beat were shorter.

I guess it all depends on many factors of which reach and tallness are just two. On the other hands statistics might just indicate that what you say is indeed the case. I get the general impression that you might be right. Good point!

    BTW
Do you actually have statistical data that supports that most taller fighters beat most shorter ones or is this base on observation of fights you have watched?

After Jacobs nobody in their right mind would think GGG is unbeatable... I think Canelo can win a UD, but I slightly favor GGG to take the W.

I do believe that the 2012-2015 version of GGG is better than the current one. I also feel the current version of Canelo is better than the 2015 version and at that time (2015), GGG would have prevailed via TKO over Canelo. Not much has necessarily changed regarding who I see winning (GGG), it's just a more even fight now, so the fans ultimately win.

Excuses can be made in every fight and there is really no point in embracing them.
We are being given a gift as fight fans with this fight happening and it's best to look on the bright side. Things rarely happen the way you want them to. It's a heck of a fight now, just like it would have been two or three years ago.

That wasn't my observation. I was crushing the myth with my statement. I don't believe taller fighters mostly beat smaller fighters. I think it depends on the competition and game plan

but you're not discussing this fight with people in their right mind. You're discussing this fight mostly with guys that never heard of Golovkin before 2015 and were watching UFC up to then.

And rightfully so. If that happens then he clearly lost the fight and would be yet another black on the sport.

No one is unbeatable. On any given night a surprise can happen. Imagine if one night Floyd's Achilles blew up like Haye's did against Bellew or he ran into a fighter like SRL or Duran on an inspired night. Anything can happen in that ring.

Sad but ture! GGG has so many obstacles put in his path for this one it is beyond ridiculous. I am just waiting for NSAC's last minute announcement of the criminal ref and judges so it will be too late for Team GGG to do anything about it.

Canelo will get to wear his Ring belt for the fight as a body protector ...

It looks to me he has that roid belly. That might help him hitting harder, but won't help with stamina. But his pharmacist probably had some solution with that to. Again, I am just guessing.

Alvarez has the judges, referee, boxing commission, Bob Bennett as his cheerleader, he gets 70% of the money, Golovkin only 30%, can weigh as much as he wants fight night, Golovkin can not weigh more than 170, Oscar has already made a deal with the WBO, for a WBO title fight, then a rematch with Mayweather for huge money. I have seen three videos that show the corruption, plus read about it, there is so much more...................still, Golovkin knows he has to knock Alvarez out to get a draw, I think he will knock Alvarez out, if the referee will allow him to, but the referee will be corrupt, perhaps Tony Weeks will tell Alvarez to kick Golovkin in the testicles, Bob Bennett would approve.........................Read the Judd Berstein letter, he tells it all..........................about Vegas fight fixing, bribes, etc. Golovkin will knock Alvarez out......................
