Easier said then done, people don't just back up and go to the ropes on a whim. It's because they are getting hurt, tired, and broken down from exchanging with him.

Jacobs had success when moving and keeping Golovkin at range. He didn't do much smothering.

I don't know who "you guys" are but I never said Golovking was flawless and unbeatable. What does one get out of Strawmen? They don't make much sense on a message forum, where everything is typed out.

Monroe edged it, but it was still a competitive round that took alot out of him.

So as long as you fire punches endlessly, you'll be in good shape...great strategy. I hope Team Canelo hires you.

no, not firing punches enlessly. Firing, clinching when necessary(not a Wladamir Bitchko tytpe of fight), little movement but showing Lil G in and out movement and showing angles and counterering him when he misses. It's the punches that you don't see which hurt the most. If someone is countered enough, they'll stop throwing(Pac against Mayweather). You'll see next saturday. Styles make fights. The thing is, I'm sure Willie Monroe, who can't beat Golovkin, would easily beat Alvarez like Raheem beat Morales years ago. Canelo has trouble with movers. If you stand in front of him and come to him, he'll destroy you. I don't know when Golvkin became SRL or Sweet Pea because this is news to me lol

Simple. Canelo has to be bold.

He can do whatever he wants. All of you will see how overrated GGG is. Suck on that.

Do not engage with Golovkin....it would be suicidal...

I'd say he has to try and maximise his chance of hearing the final bell. I highly doubt Canelo knocks GGG out so his best chance of winning (whether fairly or not) is on the scorecards.

He HAS to stay off the ropes. Staying on the ropes will allow GGG to come forward and unload heavy shots on Canelo that he isn't used to taking and this would not be maximising his chance of going 12 rounds. He has to go into the centre of the ring, wait for Golovkin to throw and then counter. Canelo's great inside defence will help him massively here before countering and the closer he is to Golovkin, the less effective GGG's superior jab will be.

Catching the (probably paid in advance) judges' eyes with high output in the last 30 seconds of rounds would be ultra-necessary in a fight like this too.

Take away the jab. Find a home for that left hook to the body. Don't trade with him..

It's two of the top three middleweights (Jacobs) going out there to prove who is the best. It's da mn near a 50/50 fight. Who is over rating anyone?

Canelo can generally be expected to fight GGG in the same way that he successfully fought Cotto but with more caution.

    BTW
GGG will be far easier to find than Cotto was since GGG will try to walk Canelo down. That's something Cotto was unwilling to try.

In other words in your view Canelo can't win legitimately while GGG can.

I agree, imitating Mayweather is definitely not a good idea in this particular case. Brings to mind how Broner attempted it against Maidana during the first few rounds and was savaged all along the ropes. The only one who can get away with that is Mayweather himself.

No. I dont think GGG has the skills to win on points and I dont think Canelo has the power to win by KO.

Of course box. A more detailed answer would be he should come out a little attentive but also powerful to get ggg attention and to let him know hes here to fight. Jabs high number of jabs and counter rights all day long. He came onto Brook/Jacobs pretty aggressively. But the thing about those fights is that GGG was not only landed pretty easily by both but he seemed a little tired maybe. He would breathe deep between combos especially in the Brook fight. The problem I see is Canelo's stamina and how much his ring general has improved to deal with constant pressure. This should be a great fight.
