I felt Roman won the first fight by a smidgen, but, after that fight, I said that I didn't think it would be a good idea to have a rematch or to wait longer to have it. I hated the fact that they essentially had an immediate rematch within several months. I wanted to see Roman take the rest of the year off because it was such a tough fight. I don't know if Roman is cooked, but, as soon as the headbutt happened, he seemed to not want to fight--mentally. He seemed frustrated and to not be interested in going another 12 rounds. Srisaket is a good fighter, but, I don't think he's great. Roman was a great fighter. I don't know if he is still great though.

It wasn't so much the head but as it was the ref's nasty indifference toward his complaint. Seemed as if he was going to have to endure the same head-butting garbage all over again.

    Ref's message seemed to be:

"It's gonna be this way or the highway!"

Srisaket is a good fighter, dangerous

Gonzalez is very skilled, he can still get some good fights at flyweight, very unfortunate loss for him

Rungvisai has average skills... BUT he appears to be VERY heavy-handed with a good chin and a real die-in-the-ring mentality, which makes him a very dangerous dude.

As soon as it happened he seemed to check out mentally. I've watched him for 10 years now. Last night was much different. He seemed like he just wasn't willing to put up with what he put up with in the first fight. I'm not making excuses--I'm simply stating that he wasn't willing to endure it.

I agree with that. He's also a tank. Roman is a small dude.

He complained to the ref TWICE during the second round and the ref said and did nothing. So he had to worry about three weapons instead of two being hurled his way with ref indifference. Not something to look forward to.

    BTW
His mistake was fighting a dirty fighter and expecting the ref to enforce the rules via warnings instead of going back down in weight or fighting someone else.

According to Lampley, Roman seemed defeated the day before the fight. Maybe, something happened in his training camp. I've never seen a guy fall off so far in one fight. He was a great fighter last time and this time, against the same opponent, he wasn't even decent. I'm like, is he retiring and doesn't care anymore? Did somebody die? Did he lose his confidence with the 0? Does he have injuries? Did his punch resistance fail and he was getting slapped around in sparring? Was he told to take a dive? What was that?
