Granted Huck is faded, but not completely shot... Huck while technically inferior to Ward by a considerable margin. Is one of the dirtiest and roughest fighters in the sport, Usyk had absolutely zero issues whatsoever dealing with him. I think an Usyk/Ward fight would go similar to the Mchunu bout, maybe a little more competitive though. Eventually the size and outside skill(does anyone dispute that Usyk is a better ranged fighter?) would be too much for Ward to deal with.
Ward has the confidence to fight Anthony Joshua right now, so Usyk would be nothing for Ward to dismantle. Don't you guys get tired of watching your favorite hypes gets beaten and destroyed by the real?
That's hot air. Ward would never fight Joshua, unless a kings ransom was at stake. Who is "you guys" I already smacked you around like a little ***** in the Usyk/Moorer thread. You want to go down that route here again?
Ward would also have beaten Huck last night. Id even take Eubank Jr to get the job done too. Hell , Golovkin at MW would have pasted him also. Usyk vs Huck was the worst fight of the entire series.
LOL! Just when you think @dinovelvet couldn't go any lower with his stupidity... He somehow manages to push the envelope with this. How is this is worst fight in the series? Gassiev/Włodarczyk is far worse... Wlod has been finished at the elite of the division for far longer than Huck, Huck has at least shown some top 10 form in the last year or two. Likewise Breides/Perez is pretty poor on paper as well, the only appetizing opening bout is Dorticos/Kudryashov. Then again... You were just looking to spit some venom Usyks way and nothing more. SMH.
I would not want to see this, two of my fav fighters. I'd hate to rule Ward out, but Usyk has the advantage here. If there's anyone who can go up from 75 to do this, it's definitely Ward though. He has the highest chance.
He can def make some waves too with his power, I just like Ward's style going up, despite the lack of power.
Before Kovalev/Ward happened what do you think people would have said about Kovalev/Usyk? The exact same thing they're saying now about Ward/Usyk. Usyk is far too great of a step up for even Ward.
I don't think Ward would be very successful against the elite in the division, his style is centered around physicality and rough house tactics, also lacks 1 punch power and outside game to compete with the bigger and more powerful CW. Beterbiev I think loses to Ward and Kovalev at LHW, but has better attributes for a move up in weight... If that makes any sense.
Def does, but Ward's also an elite "boxer" and I'd like to see his style vs Usyk's. He has a great inside game, and that's important and at 200 lb's, perhaps he can be strong enough to tangle with Usyk. He's a few inches shorter, and that could work to Usyk's favour for sure. Who knows though? Usyk def has the advantage like I said, he carries 200 well. Hunter said he thinks Ward can beat Joshua lol, perhaps it won't be far off when we see Ward vs the elites of 200.
I feel like Huck was picked because he was a name. Usyk is going to fight the top in the division no matter what. Why not spend the time til them giving yourself exposure?
