Seems like everybody has forgot this. Canelo has fought who that hits as hard as GGG? And how is Canelo plan on winning? I see this going 6/7 rounds depending how much weight Canelo puts on after the weigh in.
Canelo has never been knocked out cold or floored and beaten by a boxer 20 pounds lighter as Jacobs has. BTW How did Jacobs ever recover fully from this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteosarcoma
that's when he was a lot younger 0.0 hes improved since that ko to pirog... and pirog may of been as good as GGG had he not suffered career ending injury. he was very good shame the way his career ended.
Alvarez could not stop Cotto, Trout, Lara, a very sick inactive Chavez, Jr. Pac knocked Cotto out....................
I've just always thought Canelo has been a product of media hype due to his ability to sell tickets. He fights Mayweather. Gets SOUNDLY outboxed by a boxer who is smaller and slightly passed his prime. Trout was a good win. Lara was by the skin of his teeth and could have come either way. Cotto was close and yet Canelo couldn't even hurt him. Not to mention Cotto was no longer in his prime when they fought The only reason why this fight was made I think is because Canelos 's team thinks GGG is past his best.
Forget power. Who has Canelo fought who's actually his own size or bigger? Chavez "the statue" Jr is all I can think of.
I like both fighters but Canelo has had a stream of easy fights (Smith, zombie Chavez, crystal Khan ffs) and so won't be fully ready for GGG who is levels up.
Alvarez at his best is admittedly very ****ing good to watch. I'd say that Golovkin has fought guys with skillsets "as good" as Canelo, but in different areas. For example, I don't think Canelo has the footwork of Jacobs. I don't think he has the handspeed of Monroe. But he does have slipping skills and timing skills that maybe GGG hasn't seen yet. It's such an intriguing matchup, because their strengths complement each other so well.
