Who was bigger, Doug Jones or Kovalev? Consider that Kovalev enters the ring at close to 190. I'm sure Kovalev would win less than 500 against this line-up and I'm not a big fan of his. I think he matches up well with Foster though.

We do not know at what weight any of those light hwts entered the ring. Thus Kovalev weighing 190 is irrelevant.

Kovalev can't take it. Unless he somehow proves it otherwise he folds in a tough fight. You cannot beat a Foster or a Moore caliber great fighter if your only path to victory is to NOT get into a tough fight.

Fighters like Kovalev do not deserve praise nor do they get praise by those who really know the sport.

You know what weight Doug Jones and Mauro Mina (lol) were. Anyone who knows boxing knows that Kovalev was at least their size.

No you do not nor does anyone know the weight either of those fighters were when they walked into the ring. Weigh in weight will usually be different come fight time.

Again Kovalev can't take it and if you can't take it you are not getting far vs great fighters.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about boxing knows that heavyweights have little reason to drain for a weigh in.

Anyone who knows anything about boxing would not choose an untested light hwt to KO Marciano as you did.

Anyone who knows boxing would know Foster lost those two bouts within his first 15 bouts as a pro.

Anyone who knows boxing would know better....you don't. Guess what that makes you?

    You sure?
Marciano had to sneak bananas to eat behind Goldmans back.

There wasn't a reason in the same universe as trying to make weight.

    Let's try this in reverse.

Ezzard Charles hit the canvas 7 times and was TKO'd by 165lb Lloyd Marshall who has a KO% of 36%. He can't take punishment and Kovalev (79%KO) would destroy him.

Archie Moore hit the canvas 4 times and was KO'd by Jimmy Bivins who had a KO% of 28%. He can't take punishment and Kovalev (79%KO) would destroy him.

Harold Johnson was KO'd with one punch by 173lb Billie Smith (37% KO). He can't take punishment and Kovalev (79%KO) would destroy him.

    Need I go on?

Kovalev has one loss and you're writing him off.

Idiotic. Each of those fighters proved again and again they had the will to win over their careers. No one doubts their will to win.

Kovalev will be 35 years old in 2018. He is nearing the end of his career and he has had a total of ONE fight where he was tested and he failed miserably.

:wanker Your grasp of logic is defective.

... except for against Billie Smith, Lloyd Marshall and Jimmy Bivins, that trio of feared, featherfisted ATG-slayers.

All hail Billie Smith, Lloyd Marshall and Jimmy Bivins, we oughta make a thread about them and their ATG slaying skills. On THAT day, Moore, Charles and Johnson lacked that special something. As did they on many more occasions, to lesser fighters than Kovalev.

Sam Langford was tested and failed 43 times.
Qawi was tested and failed 11 times, as did Conn.
    Bob Foster had 8 losses.

Kovalev lost to ONE fighter and he's a write off?

    Get a grip.
