His problem is he's too talented to face bums now . I would like to see someone with a pulse as it makes him look bad
I'm starting to wonder exactly why they refused Burton, I can't forget the things they said about "not wanting to fight the loser" and making a big song and dance with 20k bonus offers and all sorts to Buglioni. Yet they have not fought anybody near the level of Burton and don't look like are going to anytime soon, it's starting to get embarrassing. I do understand the promotional issues but if you state loud and clear you only want to fight at a higher level than Burton and then fight at a lower level then you should be made to answer and also expect the ridicule that comes with two these decisions.
I agree... I like Anthony Yarde and I want to see his development. I have a problem with anyone that thinks they can call out a belt holder then refuse to fight a mandated eliminator. I also don't personally understand the argument Boxnation/BT fighters shouldnt fight on SKY shows... especially the better profiled fighters like Yarde and Dubois... If they perform well and win they would no doubt increase there profile in 1 fight what it would probably take 3 fights on BT to do. The only reason they wouldnt is if they are not sure he is ready or Burton is too dangerous to risk.
Can only think Warren is afraid his biggest future star (other than Dubois) isn't as good as the hype suggest he is. Personally I would back Yarde to beat Burton, we saw his legs go after he took a big shot from Buglioni, you can imagine what it would be like if Yarde landed, however these ridiculas mis-matches against Hungarian fighters is getting a joke now, Frank needs to sort it out or people will lose interest.
The fact that Yarde didn't even wait to see what the purse bid was from Hearn is a worrying sign that maybe he isn't all that?...
Yeah, Or him, his team, frank warren dont think he is ready and want to bring him along slower if thats the case thats not a problem... but dont giving it the bigun and waving money about and being arrogant enough to be calling out belt holders when you dont fancy fighting the guys in between you and the belt. The problem is though, there is a huge difference between the guys he has been fighting and that British level where he will fight guys like Burton. So he needs the fights in between. But it was handled badly and its not a good look.
Yarde struggled to make weight today, bad sign for him if he can't stay at LHW. Cruiser is full of bigger beasts.
This is what I've been thinking, I think 2018 will be the last year of him at LHW if not sooner. Way too big, he's the size of Kalenga and Lebedev FFS.
In that IFL interview, he gets asked why he's not fighting Hosea Burton and basically does everything he can not to answer. I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't take the fight...the only reason possibly being that he didn't fancy it. Option A: Fight Burton for 100k purse and then become mandatory for the winner of Buglioni/Johnson (the fight he wants). Option B: Fight some bum for 10k, still can't get Buglioni fight as someone else is now mandatory. Very perplexing.
He and frank W and co have answered it a million times in different interviews. They're not interested in Burton or indeed the British title - they wanted Buglioni whether it came with the title or not.
