    Mayweather vs Connor

Why was Connors, (a trained martial artist and student of Bruce Lee) arm-punching?

    ------------

    Mayweather vs Ortiz

Why was Ortiz so ecstatically happy after losing that way? Since when does a fighter feel so happy after losing via a foul?

Why was the ref Cortez looking away?

Why didn't Ortiz, a seasoned experienced fighter, evade or respond with a counterpunch immediately when he was hit?

    Because he respected Cortez? :risas3:

Not only that... But did you see Floyd outmuscle and outmaneuver Conor in the clinches? LMAO!

And Cortez's facial expression when he was looking away was like...

"Come on, guys. Hit your damn cues. Hurry!"

Much of the time I see faded big names go fight in other countries at the end of their careers, I consider it a distinct possibility that there's a gentleman's agreement in place to not go too hard in exchange for everyone getting a nice payday, and the home fighter getting the W.

I think Valuev-Holyfield is an example of this, where Valuev didn't want the fight, and didn't throw once he was in there. Considered by many to be a robbery against Holyfield, I think there's at least a 50% chance that fight wasn't a real one so much as a pre-determined sparring match.

Lebedev-Roy is where this went wrong. It was, by and large, a sleepy fight....then Roy got ambitious to break the script. He landed a couple of punches more solid than what he ought to have near the end. That fired up what had been a pretty lax Lebedev, who decided to gun for the KO hard in the final round instead of letting it get to the cards. What would've resulted in a respectable SD loss for Roy turned into a devastating KO defeat.

It's an insult to the intelligence of the fans and total disregard for the money and time they invest in watching those events with the trust that they are genuine.

Same happens in pro-wrestling when one wrestler hurts the other either unintentionally or intentionally contrary to what had been rehearsed and the hurt wrestler loses his cool.

I dont know if Hopkins-DLH qualifies as a "recent times" fight, but that one was fixed as hell (and on PPV). And you cant say a fight is fixed just because one of the fighters decides to throw it. That was what happened in Green-Briggs.

There was a ton of wonky things in the MayMac fight, but it should've surprised nobody that both parties were cool making a fortune without actually giving it a fair go. Once you reach a certain level of purse, it matters more that you've got your faculties intact to enjoy it lol.

For example: Rabbit punching is a serious offense, but Conor's hammer fist to the back of Floyd's head was probably one of his most frequently landed "punches"....and Floyd didn't give a damn about it. Conor got warned, but never penalized. Floyd's response doesn't sound like a reaction I'd expect if those illegal blows carried any force to them. Also amusing was Floyd admitting he gave the first 3 rounds away, only for him to be one round away from a shutout on two of the cards lol.

Lara - Williams was either fixed or judges were so grossly incompetent that they shouldn't be judging anymore
