GGG vs Canelo Alvarez Prediction thread.

Side prediction the judges cards will suspect in some rounds.

 

I finally got a chance to see some footage from the latest trainings etc, yesterday.. Power outtage due to Hurricane Irma.. sucks.. Anyways.. both fighters look amazing... 50/50 fight for sure now more than ever.. Obvuiously rooting for my fighter GGG all the way but definitely not counting Canelo out and give him a chance to win a decision if it goes to the cards.. but I dont think it will!

 

I think GGG by Stoppage.

 

I'm picking GGG in 10. I think he'll apply his usual methodical pressure, using his heavy jab and landing thudding shots to weaken Canelo and eventually stop him.

Canelo will have his moments, but GGG takes a good punch and eventually Canelo's shortcomings in movement, stamina will hurt him, as well as his modest power. Maybe Canelo will do an effective job of tying GGG up, because his slow feet and selective output can be very costly. Canelo is a good counterpuncher off the ropes, but that's dangerous to do against GGG.

I see the fights having similarities to Corrales-Freitas and Margarito-Cotto 1, in the sense that the one applying the pressure just breaks down the boxer, who has success but doesn't have the tools necessary to stop the incoming. And I don't think GGG will be down 5-1 after 6, like Chico and Plasterito arguably were before they turned the momentum.

 

Canelo's on steroids. He won't have modest power.

 

I don't know if that is true or not but he's filled out and looks very strong these days.

 

There's probably a ton of boxers out there on steroids or other PEDs that have modest power.

Canelo has modest power.

 

Both were cleared by VADA. Safe to say were getting a clean fight.

 

I think Golovkin will score a KO by the 10th round.

I could go into a detailed summary, but overall I don't think Canelo has the power to hurt GGG nor the footwork to escape him.

 

My head says GGG but my heart wants red to take it. This will not change I got Nelo by MD. Not because of Oscar or the judges but because it was a truly competitive fight and he earned it
