Lara has defense. Something GGG doesnt. The thing with gGG, he'll take 3 or 4 punches to land 1 of his own. He'snot dealing with David Lemiuex on saturday

 

I watched the fight and counted. Should I provide the rounds and exact time that each was landed? Funny that you should consider just four uppercuts in twelve rounds unbelievable. I have watched fights where four or five times that many were dished out in one round. also, you are probably not giving due credit to the power punches Canelo was repeatedly landing on Lara's midsection. Those were hard punches which slowed Lara down. Canelo also opened up a cut on Lara's right eye with one of those uppercuts. You probably didn't notice that either.

I gave Lara the first three rounds but then Canelo closed the distance. By the twelve it all depended on that last round. Canelo was told that the fight was close and went out to win it. Lara acted like the fight was in the bag. Had he been advised differently he might have won it.

 

GGG usually does that against fighter he feels can't hurt him or wear him down. I imagine that he will use the first few rounds to test and see if he indeed can deploy that strategy against Canelo.

Canelo, of course, will also be evaluating GGG's power to see what strategy is best.

If both reach a similar conclusion, the fight might very well result in a prolonged contest of jabs interspersed with each man taking cautious occasional risks.

The Problem with Lara is that much of his rounds with Canelo were dedicated to evading while NOT countering.
MW evades but always counters during his evasions. Which means that MW lures the opponent into traps. Lara doesn't do that with the MW consistency. That's why he gives the impression of running for running's sake and that's why Canelo was able to close the gap.

 

Ban bet, one year ... if GGG doesn't get Ko'ed. Put up or shut up.

When did canelo become a puncher because his record clearly doesn't show that. There is actually more chance that GGG has a freak heart attack and drops to the canvas
