a disgrace doesnt come close to describing it given matchrooms links to s**b h*b. basically hearn has bought all the tickets at face value from the stadium and is scalping them on a legal touting site that his own promotions company work with. he wants a % of everything at every step of the way, it will just never be enough for these types.

he then declares this news AMAZING (ly gullible fans) ! RECORD BREAKING (profits)!

80,000 tickets for Froch v Groves 2 were sold out within 11 minutes of going on sale in the same way.

how this isnt illegal is beyond me. just more corruption in the cesspool of boxing. they wont get a ****ing penny from me. the casuals this is aimed at wont care, they'll pay whatever a week or two before the fight.

Hearn is a clown. Just as bad as Diana White.

Good point, I don't know. Hearn's tweet says "fastest selling event in the stadium's history". It's probably just bad journalism as we all know there are bigger crowds (i.e. Joshua Klitschko) that have attended boxing events.

I think that Joshua will surpass Canelo in money and draws. More charisma and star power. He's a natural whereas Canelo was groomed and hyped. Once Joshua hits his stride he will be looking at Canelo in his rear view mirror.

Ahhh, I remember when scalping was illegal small time stuff...good times. Now it's legal if you're a big enough crook! Thing is, people still buy off the legal scalpers so whaddaya gonna do? Seems to happen to all ticketed events these days. Just another sign of the apocalypse as far as I'm concerned.

what i cant quite get my head around is that as promoters matchroom set the ticket prices.

they then buy them all and sell them through a 'third party' (debatable) at 50% (currently) mark up.

what is the logic? why not just price the tickets 50% higher to start with. its actually less unscrupulous / morally bankrupt. i recon there is probably a slight tax / profit bonus to doing it this way, which was deemed worth while despite it being offensive to fans.

I think at this point a legit argument can be made that Joshua is the biggest draw in boxing...
