Would Tommy Burns learn new skills in a modern 101 Boxing class?

You should be able to provide a concrete example of a technique that Tommy Burns would've learned that would evolve his technique. Are you anchoring this argument on Tommy Burns hand placement in the clinch? This is the big sign of unevolved technique?

What about fighters who do not do what you described Lomachenko and Usyk doing?
If they don't do those things, they are unevolved? Because Mikey Garcia doesn't fight like they do either, does he?
You are just describing Lomachenkos style, and then saying "Look, Tommy Burns doesn't do this, this, and this." But since when was Lomachenkos style the threshold between evolved and unevolved skill?

 

And there you have it.
This was the sum of the ingenuity that goes into the anti-old school thinking.
I for one am left with more doubt about their stance on the issue than I had when I came into this thread.
