Tom Johnson was a good champion. Statistical ****ysis of his record probably makes Tom a better champ on paper at least than Barry.

I've always felt in this match-up, that Naz's smirks and disrespectful attitude would eventually be knocked out of him, the stevie cruz fight has little baring here, but what has more baring i feel is Naz's struggles with aggressors like Soto McCulloch and Ingle, they took away Naz's time to compose and execute...a cute execution.. Kelly caused him trouble by keeping the long punches coming.. you must keep him occupied..

If you look at Barry at his best, say Pedrosa, Barry kept the pressure on for the whole fifteen rounds, he actually came out just as fast..if not faster at the start of the fifteenth, on this night there was no Brakeman on Barry's Train.. He would used that jerky upper body movement and Jab to come in behind, and then start ripping those debilitating Left hooks to the Body, it could look a bit like the Bernard Taylor fight Early with Barry on the Hunt, Naz might Smirk wave his right hand and try to Kid that what is happening is by his design... I for one would not be buying... of course he might catch Barry with some weird angled shot, But Barry showed when fielding a cruncher from Jaun LaPorte, that he can recover quickly ..and Normal service is promptly resumed.. Despite all Naz's bravado..the Tip off as the fight goes by is Naz's facial expression when going back to his Corner.. The mask would be slipping by the 7th i think... at some stage Barry finds the sequence of Body shots he is looking for.. The Drum-Rolls Naz forcing the Ref's intervention... coinciding with his Corners white Towel fluttering in ... Circa 10th seems about right for me...

Tom was good but he was also 33 when he and Hamed fought.

Barry gets dropped early and hard but it's not enough. Prince does his best to do it again but mcguigan keeps in his face whilst blasting his body. Hamed becomes more ragged as the fight goes on and Barry connects more. The fight goes through all the way and MC wins a unanimous Dec.

Barry is rated for a win over a past it Pedroza. Naz would've stopped mcguigan. Peak Naz before he fell in love with his power and lost the hunger, would've had to much speed angles and power for him imo. Also for Barrera too

Nope, Barrea schools any version of Hamed. Naz beats McGuigan though probably by late round stoppage.

Barry was in a tougher era.. I pick Barry to stop Hamed in about 10 rounds.

    This

Naz never really fought anybody worth raving about, sure he beat robinson to win his belt, but Steve was very lucky to get his shot and he took it, had a few defences Hoko etc, but Hamed struggled really Sanchez had him Kelly had him Barrera owned his Asre, bazza for me in this one, clear decision after struggling over the first four rounds catching up with Naz.

Hamed had the lowest boxing IQ I've ever seen in a champion level fighter. Barrera made him look like a rank amateur and exposed all of his many flaws simply by boxing in an intelligent and diciplined manner. I've seen many of Hamed's older fights against many different opposition and my opinion of his massive flaws never changes. There is no Hamed that I've ever seen-for example the Steve Robinson Hamed that his supporters love to brag about- that would have beaten the Barrera of that night.

Maybe, maybe not. Hamed didn't take out tough Soto, who is not on McGuigan's level. And it took 11 to take out Paul Ingle, who isn't on McGuigan's level either. Maybe Hamed takes McGuigan out, but Hamed had harder times against worse opposition than McGuigan. Which fighter did Hamed beat that was better than McGuigan?

Pedroza was an old man. He looked about 63. Passing of the torch kinda fight.
