That is a huge sum for a 27 year old Canelo. Mayweather earned 25M from dela Hoya back in 2007. He was 30. Manny Pacquiao earned only 2M from Morales back in 2005. He was 27.
I dont think thats right. You got a article link? On paper they're making about 15-20m. Of course they can make more off PPV so 50 is def possible depending on sales. But I think its a little high.
What is Oscar set to make I wonder. But 50 mill if not a bit exaggerated is a huge sum. Good luck to canelo he thinks he is in for the fight of his life so a paycheck to live off. Oscar Knows his man is in for a beating he just wants his cut of the cash.
Oscar will make more but will spend it all on fishnets, make up and high heels as he goes on a massive shopping spree to compensate for his cash cow getting ktfo.
They will both make a lot of money of this fight for sure.. Number seems real to me.. Maybe not 50 exactly but close to it for sure after PPV sales sponsors and all the sales in general he will make a massive amount of money aside from his purse..
Oscar also said this is going to sell 3 mil PPV's which we both know isn't going to happen. It won't even do half of that.
I don't have the exact figures of everything Canelo makes of course, but I don't think Oscar's exaggerating. His career earnings are understated here dramatically because people focus on the U.S. part of the pie and ignore the significant amount of cash he draws from Mexico. Here's a real-world example: Canelo would auction the exclusive rights to air his fights off between Mexican free TV powerhouses TV Azteca & Televisa. The rights didn't come cheap because Canelo fights generate massive ratings: a stay-busy fight between Canelo and Smith drew 18 million viewers. For a bigger event? The Chavez fight drew 32.6 million viewers! That's unique television sets all tuned in. For perspective, Pac-Horn peaked at 4.4 mil in the states with a 3.1 mil average. A higher % of Mexicans watch Canelo fights than Americans that watch the Super Bowl. He's gotten so big that now, as of the Chavez fight, TV Azteca & Televisa both pay to air each Canelo fight themselves at the same time. The GGG fight will also be on both networks. So, even if the U.S. PPV tanks, he's going to get paid very, VERY well.
