I contend that it may be harder to achieve greatness in the sport of boxing with an aggressive style. You are more likely to be hit so the odds of getting hurt go up substantially. Whereas if you are constantly backpedalling and reluctant to engage, well, you do the physics.Kudos to GGG for making it this far in spectacular fashion.

Defense is a much harder form of art than offense in sports.

You're the one reacting, you're also the one getting thrown on. There's a reason why there are so many more offensive greats than defensive ones, who wants to stand there and have someone throw at you while you having to react.

Do you know how difficult it is to counterpunch? You make 1 little mistake and you're going face down on the canvas lmfao.

:nononoA skilled offensive fighter does everything you mentioned while moving forward.
It's not as if the offensive fighter can omit defense from his repertoire.lol

Oh it's true, and no they don't, they can maintain defensive responsibility but they're nowhere near as good as defensive masters. They still get hit, a lot. Roberto Duran is an example, he maintains defensive responsibility while swarming you but he's still getting hit.

The name of the game is hit and DON'T get hit, that's what counterpunching is all about!

I think its boxing in general, not just counter punching with hitting and not being hit

Boxing is ABOUT HITTING AND NOT GETTING HIT.

That's why Mayweather, Jr is one of the greatest ever, cuz he did that to perfection. No other fighter was even close in terms of compubox stats, the man showed everyone what true boxing was all about.

The compubox stats are to the largest degree inaccurate. Especially when Mayweather is concerned. lol. You need two or sometimes three pitty-pat punches to equal one triple G bomb.:bump

You're right, he's probably much more accurate and much more defensively sound if it WAS accurate lol. They seemed to be counting punches that rolled off the man's shoulder or hit his gloves, elbows etc.

    LMFAO

Mayweather clearly beat the living **** out of him, won 10 rounds to 2 on any decent scorers card.

Pacquiao was on the verge of getting knocked out, look how scared he fought!

The video is legit. Watch it and learn.LOOK at the photo of Manny throwing a bomb. No pitty-patting from Manny. 120 hard punches to 69 pitty-pats.
