The IBF doesn't do next day weigh ins for unification bouts anymore.

The IBF had been discussing removing their next day weigh in rule for quite some time. As of Aug 2017 they ended that rule when it comes to unification bouts.

Reason is because the fighter not participating in the 2nd weigh in may have an advantage over his opponent.

    See, you learned something today.

LOL this is clearly an unfair advantage for Canelo and i might actually change my pick based on this.

Please read more carefully, I said that quite the opposite. Nothing is unfair about the weigh-in, it just sounded like the OP wanted it to be unfair:

de la Hoya is trying to weaken Bumlovkin as much as possible. They've taken a page out of Jacobs' playbook and added a chapter. Smart move on Team Canelo's part

And it benefits Golovkin as much as it does Canelo , therefore it gives neither guy an advantage.

So it's a unification even though Canelo doesn't have a title?

I get that. Doesn't mean my point is invalid though.
