Would u call golovkin an ATG if he beats canelo and then moves up and beats ward?

Who would you pick to beat him in the last 5 yrs??? at 160lb. Remember wards a 168, 175lb'er

HE should take on kovalev instead, i think he could do it. Wards a rigged fight. if he knocked wards out they would disqualify him for some bs

 

Beating Canelo probably puts him in the top 100, in my opinion. Subsequently beating Ward could put him in the top 75 or 50 maybe.

 

If he beats Canelo and takes the last belt from Monroe/Saunders, he is an ATG in my books. He has done so much.

If he beats Ward (two weight classes jump), he would be considered something else.

 

I don't really like to see him jump weight yet though. I think he should clean out MW first and unify. What Crawford just did at Light Welterweight is really good.

It has been the trend for the last two decades to just jump as many weight classes as one could and pick up some of the many belts along the way. But that tune got old. I hope the new trend becomes that fighters first and foremost try to unify their division. Then maybe they can go up in weight.

 

I think even if he lost to Canelo, he's done enough for HOF.
longevity + title defenses + ruling division with iron fist = HOF.

ATG is a big difference, even if he won. I don't rate Canelo as
MW, I don't even have him as a top 3 JMW. It's a great fight but
the only way I'd put Golovkin as an ATG is if he beat Canelo, Jermall Charlo
then went up and cleaned out SMW. He doesn't have enough time on his side
to do it. HOF, yea, ATG, no.

 

Moving up to beat Ward of course would make him an ATG. And if as I predict he beats Canelo it may well happen. But he's not going to beat Ward!
