Tommy Morrison on his best night versus Anthony Joshua.
How do you guys think this one would play out?

It's intended to be a bit tricky given how Tommy could perform incredibly well on few particular nights. Would those legacy performances be enough to defeat the young knockout machine AJ?

Tommy "The Duke" Morrison vs. Anthony "AJ" Joshua

    What "legacy performances" ?

Joshua should knock him out inside 4 rounds, possibly a 1 round KO.

Morrison was never really more than a lower-top 10 fringe contender in terms of his accomplishment/ranking, and only briefly even that. Obviously he was a bit of an attraction.

Joshua may be a bit overrated in the expectations people have for him, but he's arguably the #1 man legitimately at the moment and he's just bigger and better than Morrison from the looks of it.

    Morrison wouldn't beat Pulev either.

    Morrison.

If Whyte can land a rabbit punch (sure it was a left?) and rock Joshua's world, Tommy would turn his lights out.

Morrison had a better variety in single punches & combos as well. Better power. He takes AJ out within 5/7.

Morrison has a good chance early, and even later, his stamina is more proven- foreman and hipp fights

I can't believe how highly rated this guy Morrison has become.
I remember him. He was a second-rater, absolutely. His lasting real claim to fame is and peck-and-run job against an ancient Foreman and I'm not even sure Foreman wasn't holding back in that one.

He was a good prospect level and never a real contender for long, an exciting hype job, a white guy with a left hook, well-marketed and carefully matched until they put him in with Ray Mercer, who destroyed him.

Morrison wasn't a top fighter of his era. Nowhere near. Hardly ever broke the real top 10, honestly.

If Morrison had been in the ring against AJ instead of Klitschko, then Tommy could have taken him out. AJ showed heart and guts to, so he could have come back from a morrison attack. It's a toss up for me at the moment with Joshua in the early days.

Tommy was a 4 round dangerous as hell fighter. No one who did not take him seriously, would end up getting away without getting cracked.

Tommy has a punchers chance, and was a legit contender.

On his best night Morrison would have a real chance of destroying Joshua. Who did Joshua beat at the end of the day? His legs are woefully slow and his stamina is atrocious.
If he momentarily gasses out against the Duke its all over for him and there's a good possibility he would given how good of a body shotter Tommy was.

Btw , a lot of guys would have been put out for the count or finished off if they took what Ray Mercer took before he won. Chins like that only come around once a millennia.

Mercer had no defense though. Most decent heavyweights wouldn't need to soak up punches from Morrison like that. Mercer plodded forward getting hit as a strategy. He did the same against Damiani in his fight before Morrison.

Morrison did ok with decent speed vs. some guys who had weaknesses and were plodding, but against Joshua? Morrison gets knocked out in about 5.

Joshua only next to Lewis and Tyson would be Morrison's worst nightmare. Lewis actually beat morrison at his own game and thats with the left hook. Joshuas uppercut would find its mark fast as did Ruddocks buit joshua is a EXCELLENT finisher when he has you hurt, and Morrison for whatever reason? Had stamina issues where he had to fight in spurts after certain rnds.

Joshua k.os him in about 5 rnds bc joshua isnt going to take chances with known power punches if he can end fights early and both like/liked too end fights within 3/4 rnds on average.

Morrison always fought great when he was focused but Joshua all around to much here.

If you thought Mercer slumped him.....oh boy....Morrison wouldnt need a doctor, he'd have needed a preacher.
