How bad is Canelo that he had everything in his favor, a 118-110 card made out before the fight, and only managed a draw against a 35 year old?

Canelo spent too much time going backwards. When he would come forward and throw combos, he would do well. It is what it is. A rematch would be fun. It was a really entertaining fight.

    He should be.

And now he will fight either Tony Margarito or Carson Jones at 160 on the next Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Results aside, it was a good fight. Congratulations to both fighters. I didn't think Canelo had it in him but he did well.

Great fight. A draw is a fair result. Can't wait for the rematch. I think Canelo takes it cause he's younger. GGG from a few years ago beats Canelo.

If Canelo hadn't waited a few years he would've gotten sparked out. GGG was taking his shots like they are coming from a flyweight. They might have been clean but not very effective.

Canelo was very very fast in the early rounds. I was impressed. His skills held up too, but GGG had that jab in his face all night.

GGG was the ring general for 3/4 of the fight. Taking the center of the ring and backing Canelo up to the ropes. GGG's defense was also nice, he was slipping a lot of shots.

As he said when asked, "if the people want it" referring to a rematch. Says it all...

It's all ego and pride, so much has been said on these boards over the last two years that some people just can't be honest about what they actually saw.

All this bull**** is happening because of one incompetent judge. Both fighters fought a great fight. It was entertaining and I had fun watching it. I'm sure people would have been okay with a draw if Byrd scored like 115-113 for Canelo. But that 118-110 scorecard is ****ing everything up. It makes people feel like they were cheated out of something great. But the reality is the fight is still there and it was great. Who cares how a blind judge scored it.

The jab was landing all night. Jabs are scoring blows.

canelo definitely won that fight. he consistantly landed the cleaner harder shots. i will never score a fight for someone walking forward and getting countered hard both to head and body and barely landing anything in return.

One punch does not win a round and GGG still landed more, included a nasty right cross of his own in the second minute of the round.
