GGG fanboys excuses Since when is 35 old? Look at what Mayweather was doing at 35 year sold, and his style surely relies more on quick reflexes that diminish with age.
Well it is a blot now, go and check his once perfect record. Abel Sanchez said if they leave it to the judges and come up short then it's their own fault. I wanted Golovkin to disappear into the sunset with a lot of money and a perfect record as I believe he was a genuine ATG. Father time doesn't believe in greatness though and now he's not the fighter he once was, I'm disappointed he didn't get the big fights in his prime.
GGG wasn't nearly aggressive enough, I don't know if the bright lights of Las Vegas got to him or if he tried to implement a Mayweather type game plan and close late. I do agree with you about trigger problems, even Stevie Wonder could see that. He did walk through Canelo's power shots.
Everybody ages differently, another factor which nobody thinks of is the use of PED's. If Mayweather is a drug cheat like I suspect and Golovkin is clean then it's scientific fact that Mayweather will be able to keep his "peak" for much longer.
35 is considered old in boxing. Floyd, Bhop and Foreman aren't the norm. Usually fighters are in the prime and physical peak in their mid to late 20's...sometimes early 30s. Floyd and Nards skills allowed them to last into their late 30s.
I'm already sick of reading statements like this 1. No the draw wasn't his fault for 'letting' it go to judges. It's their job to score properly 2. Not knocking out a proud, tough fighter like Canelo doesn't mean he's not an ATG. Espescially considering you know he still won the fight.
I actually think GGG will improve in the rematch, but I agree with much of what you say. I was baffled that Gennady did so little body work, especially during the first half of the contest. I was simply baffled. He's such a tremendous body puncher.
You know what I'm seeing so far. GGG should have did this, he should have been more this. WTF did Canelo do to win? After rnd 3 he got dominated. Going backward and leaning on the rope and shaking your head as you eat punches does not win fights. Not until the 10 rnd did he feel the urgency , and even his corner felt they were losing going into the 10. So please stop with the BS. He should have won. There was nothing else he could have done beside KOing Canelo when one judge had it 118 - 110. Even a a couple of knock downs wouldn't have won it.
I bet you're not as sick as Golovkin now his legacy has been tarnished, I'm pissed off with him and Sanchez as I think they could have done more to ensure he didn't get a raw deal.
"if Canelo had stood up like a man and fought a mans fight..." You know nothing about boxing, basically, on the evidence of that comment - so why are you commenting on boxing? Have you ever boxed?
I can't see it myself. I think the Jacobs fight asked the questions if he was past it, tonight answered it IMO. He's looked vulnerable late on in both fights now so I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo stops him very late on.
Should Mayweather also blame himself for the 114-114 card he had against Canelo? Do you know how dumb that sounds?
What? You're saying it hasn't affected his legacy? Calling it ruined maybe a bit harsh but you get my point.
Fair enough. I think the magnitude of the event had GGG a little nervous and rattled early before he settled in. My main reason for believing he'd improve in a rematch is I don't imagine he'll be as jittery to start next time around.
