I think there is a justification for a 116-112 Canelo, and I see why many people absolutely disagree with it. I gave GGG 3 rounds clearly, Canelo 4 rounds clearly and the rest being very close and hard to call. 118-110 is just a bit beyond the pale for me. For those who look for clean effective punching Canelo was the cleaner more effective puncher and landed more power punches despite throwing less. His defense was excellent and made GGG miss a ton. I personally favor this style of fighting. I have a bias and I'll admit that. It's how I was tought to fight and is what I look for in a boxer. Let me just ask you, who's highlight reel got more footage tonight? That said GGG was the ring general tonight he landed more jabs and was consistently taking space from Canelo, GGG's chin is unreal. He ate everything Canelo could throw and walk through it. Unbelievable. SO I can see the card for GGG, but I don't agree with it. The draw card is a man who saw what the world saw as a whole. 2 great fighters, both playing their own games and doing so beautifully. Either guy could win a rematch. Neither guy was able to impose their gameplan and that my friend is what leads to a great fight. I'm just excited for the rematch.
FFS somebody tell me not just that I am wrong, but how I'm wrong. I came to talk boxing, only wish you all would do the same.
I'm not going to listen to anyone who tries to argue that is could be close to 10-2, which you're doing. As bad as the score was it can't be incompetence. It was a Golden Boy scorecard, and that's all there is to it.
canelo didnt win 8 rds, thats where youre wrong, and 90% of opinions feel that youre wrong. take it for what its worth.
