And i never said GGG doesn't have a good chin. It has very good resistance , but top 5 of all time? No.
AA dosen't have a better chin than GGG. Same argument can be said about AA, which knock-out artists did he face?
Why doesn't he? His chin is far more tested. He was never stopped even up at super middle. How does GGGs chin fare a weight above? Its unknown.
Even that is not a lock. Hagler, Greb and LaMotta are all locks. That means for two spaces he's up against Monzon, Tiger, Conn, Dillon, Burley, Booker, and may others. Monzon: never stopped in 100 fights. Conn: Stopped three times, twice by Joe Louis, once early in his career after taking ill in the ring and quitting in his corner. Certainly more proven than Golovkin. Tiger: Shipped bombs to great fighters. Certainly more proven than Golovkin. Dillon: Stopped twice in a hundred fights that saw him go from middleweight to heavyweight. Fought many greats in a pressure style. One stoppage on an arm-injury, the other during a washed up comeback. Burley: Never stopped in a career that saw him go from welter to heavyweight. Booker: Never stopped. Archie Moore and Lloyd Marshall hit him. I think that Golovkin has a great chin. Don't get me wrong. He's in this kind of discussion. But is he locked above these guys? Nope.
Which puncher has AA ever faced, Froch? GGG would survive Froch and probably dish his own beating on him.
Miranda was a huge hitter who shattered Arthur jaw . Even that couldn't stop him. G never had his chin tested like that. Even iron chinned Kessler wanted no part of Miranda. I could see Froch taking Golovkins dome clean off. That cork screw uppercut wouldn't miss him. His chin is untested on that level. There's simply nothing to go off.
I remember Canelo hitting Golovkin with an exact same overhand right that killed Khan.. but Golovkin didn't even back up. He could take combitations and walk through them which is beyond impressive. I was more suprised, however, by the fact that Canelo landed vicious shots to the body early in the fight. Still, they didn't seem to have much effect on GGG, because later in the fight it was Canelo who was fatiqued.
