Canelo didn't win but he did fight a great fight. He's definitely matured as a fighter and looked like he belonged in the ring with Golovkin. Not many people can say that. I had it 7-5 GGG on the first watch.

I gave Alvarez every close round (rounds where he got out landed but hit Golovkin with 2 or 3 clean shots), because I was aware of the potential scoring controversy. I had it 115:113 GGG. I can see him winning 116:112 also.

And now I think I'm going to watch the Mayweather vs De la Hoya fight again and cheer for Mayweather this time.

I'll probably rewatch it and score it again, but I gave it to Canelo. As I watched I understood that most would be more impressed by Golovkin's aggression, but I just thought Canelo landed the better and more hurtful punches. And the fighter that does should win.

I really loved the technical battle in the first couple of rounds. Canelo baiting him to come while GGG being a tad hesitant to bombs him at the ropes afraid of the counters.

I thought it was a pretty good fight, I know that many casuals probably won't though.

The fact that this was advertised as "Hagler vs Hearns" and a garbage scorecard by Byrd.

It was a clear GGG win. I just knew GGG was going to get screwed on the score cards, that was my main concern. If GBP and Canelo had the power to steal a card from Mayweather, the biggest name in boxing, there was no limit as to what they can do with someone who doesn't even compare in pulling power as Floyd. And in the Mayweather Canelo fight, Floyd easily won 10 or 11 rounds and by some miracle a 114 114 card appeared out of nowhere.

I'm not going to let one judge taint an awesome fight MVC
That was a classic fight and all respect to BIG RED and GGG.
Canelo won lots of respect from me for bringing deadly shots and taking the best from GGG

too close to call. only two or three rounds had clear winners. the other rounds canelo starting early won the first half of round, then GGG would come back late in the round and win second half.

maybe people remember what they see last , like trump lol.

watched it three times, hell i dont know who won.

Yeah I liked it too, I just don't like how boxing always manages to shoot itself in the foot or punch itself in the eye when the year has been so great.

Oh well, on to the next.

For me the main problem is that Golovkin is getting old and now he has to waste another fight, another 5-6-7 months of his training to prepare for a rematch against a guy he clearly beat
