He was never going to be the fastest fighter, but last nights his punches looked extra slow (except the counter jab it was still nice). He was missing so wide it was embarrassing. No middle weight at 35 is close to prime. You can see it in his face and body he's starting to look like some type of older eastern european janitor or plumber. This is a young mans sport. He has been declining way before jacobs or canelo, he started to look slower in the lemiex fight.

you're dumb if you don't think he has declined, would love to see canelo at 35 years old against a top fighter. He will die.

Golovkin has stepped up the last couple fights and so the fights have been closer. It's what generally happens.

Canelo has been fighting pro since he was 16 and has fought at top level for longer than GGG despite only being 27.

Golovkin only stepped up to top level 2 fights ago. Hard fought fights is a bigger contributor to decline than age. Golovkin hasn't a lot of wear and tear on him so its fair to say he looked worse because his competition got better.

He didn't dominate him in any way shape or form.

At 35, it is obvious GGG has declined a bit physically. His style doesn't age as well as others. Most pressure fighters are done by 35 but there are exceptions.

He is still elite, but he isn't going to get better.

GGG never stepped up. Other fighters stepped up to him.

Gennady looked like a caricature of himself from 2 years ago.
Either he's got early brain damage, either he carried Canelo by refusing to go to the body.

The latter wouldn't surprise me one bit. He was never going to go near Canelo as long as he kept wrecking his foes; Hoya would have swerved him until he was 40.

well why stop with your first 2 top guys? thats a weak career. canelos done that and hes nearly 8 years younger.

surely he should push for bona fide elitedom.

Would seem odd to retire after clearly beating a fellow top 10p4p'r.

GGG can go on for a few more years yet if he wants.

Yes. Fight Saunders. Then maybe one more time to break Hopkins titile defese record at middle weight.

    After that retire.

Never sign to fight a de la Hoya boxer unless you want his judges.
