People are saying last night proved GGG is not a MW ATG because he couldn't KO a lmw. Has everyone forgotten Hagler went life and death with a former Lightweight and lost to a former welterweight? In a fight between two elites its hard to dominate a fight and even harder to win by KO.
But that little light weight 1 ligtweight ever Beat a prime ray leonard ( no one ever did that Won 4 titles Ranked 8th greatist fighter ever Knock out a horse. Canelo no duran Duran Atg .Canelo all time chucky look a like. Big difference No Hagler did not go life and death with Cholo.Beat a man who beat Hagler (acording to the twisted logic here)Thats why Hagler gets a pass.
the welter was SRL, dipstyck. And duran was a demonlordof boxing, nevermind a questionable elite like canelo.
How much did Canelo weigh? Did he weigh 154? No. He was a middleweight. People need to get a life with this "he couldn't KO a feeatherweight" crap when the featherweight weighed that in his debut, 20 years ago.
Dude, didn't you know Gene Fullmer's got a glass jaw because he got one-shotted by a former lightweight in SRR? Despicable mandible makeup if I ever saw it.
Don't mean to burst you bubble, man, but you are talking about all time great fighters in Duran and Leonard. Canelo could not carry either of those guys' jock straps. I'm a big fan of GGG and love watching him fight. That said, he is not on the level of Marvin Hagler. There is no shame in that though as Hagler is one of the greatest to ever do it. Hagler simply had more faucets to his game than G. He'd dominate the division today like he did back then. BTW, he defeated Duran, and many people think he deserved the nod in the Leonard fight as well.
Hagler retired at 32. There is a different in years when you reach your 30's. 32 year old Oscar was still very good, 35 year old Oscar couldn't win a minute against Pac. Tyson was finished at 35.
Yes they are all time greata but if those fights happened today everyone would discredit them based on size difference alone.
