Not sure if last night s fight changed anyone s opinion of him, but what if it was the Golovkin of now been challenged by Leonard of the Hagler fight? Do you see sugar pulling off the big win, or is GGG good enough to beat Ray at this point?
Leonard. This version of Golovkin would have really struggled with Leonard's handspeed, evasiveness, and mobility.
I think the fight would be very similar to the Hagler fight. The difference in the weigh-in schedule changes the entire ballgame though, Golovkin would have a massive size advantage come fight night.
Another difference is that Leonard is a better athlete than Canelo, and has much better stamina. He'd also have a reach advantage.
He showed it and reminded me of Hagler in his last couple of fight s. I think this Golovkin struggle s with John the beast now. Leonard would take advantage and get a decision.
SRL would shoe shine him to death and steal round after round...... What you GGG fan boys dont understand is that he is slow and methodical and cannot adapt......his only adaption is higher work rate but that does not get you shid if you barely land but impresses the casuals.....one more time, he MET TWO ELITES in his career and struggled both times FACT.......there is a reason some haters called him Bumlovkin........he would have been exposed a long time ago if he would have stepped up.......btw, the proof is in the pudding why he never faced Ward , Andre would have been prosecuted for ****.
Leonard is probably one of, if not the toughest matchup for this version of Golovkin, given his stylistic advantages. I'm really not sure he'd have enough to overcome the pressure but he would be a great person to choose to try and beat GGG.
and I think Ray's power would stop GGG in his tracks if he came forward. Ray could punch. Ray punched better as a counter than when he was trying to come forward.. He would counter GGG and could stop him.
