hes 35, its the beginning of the end for those who wear the "take it to deliver it"motto most vehemently. And 3G does so very exceptionally.
Wtf are you talking about? Lol I used that as an example that you can look unfazed but still have years taken off your prime.
You're right, and in Canelo's last performance when he promised his fans he'll go toe to toe with GGG, and failed to do so, that's why he got booed, and that's why he lost the fight. "NEW" boxing fan? Hahah. I've been watching boxing since the late 80's
Still a poor example. Margarito ate 2x as many power punches in 10 rds against Cotto than GGG did against Canelo over 12. The # of punches 3G took from Canelo was perfectly normal For a competitive fight like this.
He's getting old already anyways. he doesn't have a style that ages well. GGG although still an elite fighter is not in his prime anymore.
Golovkin has always defended with his chin, it's just that he has an excellent chin. Canelo was always gonna stick and move. It just took Golovkin longer than necessary to settle into the fight. Next time expect to see him push the pace from round 1 and secure a wide UD.
I don't think so, he wasn't hurt by any punch Canelo landed in the fight. If he struggles or loses from here on out it's because he's almost in his late 30s which is the point the vast majority of fighters are retired or badly declined.
Its what happens in boxing. Props to GGG for sucking it up very well, but those punches he took likely to a toll. Especially the body attack.
The thing is CA never hurt GGG. He landed clean shots but couldn't keep GGG from coming in. Add that to the what happened to the Chavez fight , it kind of proves, Alvarez is an overrated puncher Its speed that bothers GGG and that was definitely apparent but Alvarez was too defensive to exploit it like he should have.
in the age of safety first fighting, these candy ass fans think a decent scrap is now a career ender. fighters used to take punishment like this 3 times a year for decades, without all the drama queen hyperbole from fans.
You can be affected by the punishment you take in a fight without being physically wobbled or put on your back. Big credit to Golovkin for taking all Canelo dished out, but it very likely will take a toll on him. We'll see how he does in his next big test.
The only thing that was landing consistently for GGG was the jab. On the other hand GGG had his organs rearranged. Credit to both fighters, they put on a hell of a fight, but GGGs best days may be behind him. We shall see in the rematch.
