As far as I saw it, both took quite a lot of punishment and showed excellent chins. I reckon the shots Golovkin landed on Canelo, or the shots Canelo landed on Golovkin, would've knocked out basically every other MW. Maybe Derevyanchenko can take it, apparently he has a crazy chin too. But what is clear is that both Canelo and GGG have crazily good chins.
Canelo is a smaller guy who has average punch power , Golovkin is bigger and has devastating punch power. The test of their chins is unbalanced. Canelo should be getting the chin praise , not 3G. Going 12 rounds with Canelo says nothing about a guys chin strength. Cotto wasn't praised for his chin and he was smaller and older than GGG , then again Cotto doesn't have a fanbase of casuals.
Fair point, in general I agree, but however Canelo did hit Golovkin with some really big stuff. Visually it appeared that Canelo's big shots were comparable to Golovkin's in this fight. I'm guessing you saw the GIF of the huge right hand like the one that hit Khan / Kirkland?
I don't depend on commenters or compubox to make decisions for me, I actually watch the fight and I know what I saw. Canelo just don't bruise easy. Then some people don't swell up until later that night. At any rate it irrelevant how his face looked.

I think he's trying to be smart and give Canelo credit for 'aging' Gennady, he sees what we have been saying for a year now, GGG is older, slower with worse reflexes, he's 35 for crying out loud. But IsaL wants us to believe GGG aged overnight because of this 'mega war' with Canelo
This is so typical! A two year build up to a fight that was going to give us all the conclusive answers we wanted. Both sides played their part including myself yet when it is all said and done, nothing got answered and each sides have only become more obstinate in the aftermath. We all argue while the fighters and their team's laugh and count their money while they prepare the rematch to send us all into another frenzy only this time we all know it will be different and things will change. LOL We are all such marks!!!
The Canelo RH looks more powerful than that uppercut to me, but what do I know? I guess perhaps some of the hype on GGG's chin was accumulated from other fights / reputation.
Canelo was juiced. And he landed juiced bombs. And GGG has never been knocked down or hurt in the amateur or the pros. GGG's chin is granite.
