That's true also.. Canelo didn't do much but defend and look good for chunks of the fight.. I'm trying to figure out how everyone is losing their minds because it was a draw.. It was a close fight that nobody lost and people are crying like GGG lost...
I don't know man. It does seem to obviously wide to be considered corrupt, however, it doesn't help in the fact that Canelo has had some shady decisions in recent past. I'd love to sit down with Byrd and watch that fight to see how she scored it.
Well if you go by compubox, Alvarez landed at a low % as well. Think it was 33% for CA and 31%GGG. Alvarez started well but when into retreat mode for several rounds and all GGG had to do was be more active and use his jab. Not really a complicated fight if you look at it. Alvarez is notorious for fighting in spurts.
Thanks, I posted the same thing in this thread too: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/don-trella-gave-round-7-to-canelo.593841/
Yeah, like I said, I see your point and would be tempted to agree with you if I hadn't seen Byrd score some blindingly obvious fights exactly the wrong way. Watch Melvin Guillard 30-27 over Jamie Varner in the UFC, and see what I mean. Obviosuly went to sleep, and that's what I reckon happened in the Canelo fight. Just lost concentration completely, zoned out, and filled the cards with every round for Canelo that she couldn't remember clearly.
Well I think we can both agree on whatever did happen was extremely disappointing in this magnitude of a fight.
Lewis landed 218 more punches than Holyfield and it was a draw.. I remember scoring that fight.. 11-1 lol
Atlas is a little bit stupid and immature. He's impugned someone simply because he didn't like the outcome of a scorecard. Atlas, is the one who's corrupt.
Couldn't agree more. Especially coming off his pathetic biased commentary in Pac - Horn, he doesn't have a good track record. He comes off as a spoiled brat, I can't believe I'm saying this but Stephen A Smith sounded like the reasonable one in their exchange last night lol. The fact that Atlas stated he had it 118-110 while complaining about 118-110 the other way when pretty much evrerybody else had it close is some of the biggest hypocrisy I've ever seen. I mean it's perfectly reasonable to argue that Byrd's card was too wide, but to then state that you had the exact same score for the other guy is completely ridiculous and destroys any credibility you could have making that argument. Atlas is a fricken joke.
It is clearly the nature of Byrds ridiculous scorecards that triggered everyone being so upset over the result. If the fight was a draw with every card being very close then there would not be the same animosity. The overriding factor is that Triple G needed a knockout to win the fight, he was always going to struggle on the scorecards. However the large majority do believe Golovkon won.
also lets not overlook the fact that ALL the scorecards were wrong. (Yes even the 2-pointer for GGG). That was a 116-112 fight. The EXTREME nature of the Byrd card just might be a smokescreen to deflect attention away from the bigger con that was pulled here. Chances are they were ALL in on it. Its really simple to do - just basic arithmetic after all.
Yeah sounds about right, Canelo won rds 1,2,3,4,10,11,12 for sure, maybe one other one. 7-5 or 8-4 Canelo.
