A smaller, older Mayweather beat Canelo easily. There was no debating, Mayweather put on a clinic. Last night's result, further cements Mayweather's legacy as one of the greatest fighters to ever step in the squared circle.

    :bump

This is true, Canelo won 1 round vs Mayweather who was damn near 36 years old. 1 round.

Styles. I'm sure GGG would have made beating Maidana or Cotto look a lot easier. Alexander 12 - 0 Maidana.

Floyd fought like Floyd fights, forcing Canelo to be the aggressor and walk him down, when Canelo is a natural counter puncher. He took Canelo out of his comfort zone, that and Canelo was drained half to death and a mere child.

GGG fought Canelo at his natural weight, and this was a far more seasoned version, not some inexperienced doe eyed pup, and GGG fought Canelo's match, and played right into his hands, and still beat him 116-112, GGG beat Canelo at the style that suits him most, like a G, like a true boss.

    Therefore..........

    GGG's win>>>>>>>>>>>Floyd's win

OP is absolutely correct. Golovkin has balls. And is into women.

This was NOT the same Canelo that fought Mayweather, what a garbage thread. Canelo was a middleweight monster against Triple G, and had improved vastly since the last time. Canelo is better now than he was when he was drained and not as skilled. Also Golovkin CLEARLY beat Canelo, it was a complete schooling. Canelo only managed some random moments of attacks, but no consistency. It was Golovkin all the way. Golovkin got robbed of a clear and easy victory.

Mayweather went life and death with Maidana, but we all know how easily Golovkin would have disposed of Maidana. A lot of this has to do with styles, that and Canelo is better and more seasoned and powerful, competing at his proper weight class, more experienced and more skilled than when he faced Floyd.

“Like I said before, I’ve never fought a guy at a catchweight. I don’t fight guys at catchweights. I don’t plaster my gloves. These are things I don’t do, because I’m not that type of guy.”

"I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he's not comfortable. I want a guy when he's at his best. If he's at his best at 154 and he's strong and he's solid, then that's the fight we're fighting at. I walk around at 150, but at the end of the day - skills pay the bills.... Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses"

"De La Hoya - Pacquiao fights him at a catchweight. Cotto - he fights him at a catchweight. When I fought De La Hoya I said 'give him to me at 154'. With Cotto - 'give him to me at 154'. Give me the guys where they are comfortable with their weight so there are no excuses"

''I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter. He faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catchweight. It wasn’t the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained; he wasn’t hydrated. Antonio Margarito was a guy who was cheating. I want him [Cotto] to be comfortable, to feel good when we meet to go into battle. I don’t want no excuses. So I’m going to go in there and be Floyd Mayweather. I’ve been there before and I know what it takes.”

Ellberbe commented on Pacquiao’s catchweight win over Cotto in 2009, saying to ***** “He [Cotto] was a dead man walking when he went into the ring. The casual fan doesn’t know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight.”

"That's one thing Floyd make perfectly clear to us," Ellerbe said. "He didn't want to fight him at a catchweight, he wanted to fight him at the weight. Sometimes, you don't get full credit when you fight at a catchweight. Floyd wanted to make sure Miguel was comfortable."

''Problem is Floyd doesn't get tired and we've seen Canelo fade in fights before.. Having to take off that extra two pounds is.. people think it's just two pounds but when you already struggling to make 154 that extra two pounds is a lot. He [Canelo] is going to put on a lot of weight but he's not going to be able to put on the right kind of weight in just 24 hours. So he's gonna feel the fact that he's, you know, stripped his body, cutting his muscles to get to 152.''

152 and now weighing 160 is drained LOL 8 pounds is drained LOL and then gaining 20 pounds after , is supposed to be drained, only in this ERA of boxing people come up with the lamest excuse. It use to be, no excuses my fighter lost it's his fault he agreed . Now it's every excuse in the book, from his dog died to he lost his lucky socks to they put a gun to his head and made him sign that dam contract LOL. Bunch of little girls nowadays.

I don't see how that fight last night had to do with Mayweather. Floyd weakened a younger Canelo to 152.. this fight was at 160.. Anything to help Floyd's legacy where he never had a great fighter or anything. I think the guy last night surpassed Floyd in that they were in a greatfighter. Floyd never was. That affects his legacy of handpicking and boredom.

Not according to one judge who gave it a draw and the other two who gave more than one round to Canelo.
