It will be like the student checking the teacher, but I will go over the numbers tonight when I get home. It appears this weekend provided a lot of movement in the rankings. Not an easy update for sure!
You are too modest @Drinquor, you do an excellent job and the accuracy of your updates is very impressive.
I have just re-read the scoring and it appears there was no score indicated for this situation. I believe we have been scoring a SD or MD as a 10-9 to CLOSE UD but then that would mean scoring a Knockout as a 10-9 to the WIDE UD and we do not do that as far as i can remember. I am thinking that a SD or MD when both called CLOSE & WIDE should be 10-10 ?? I don't want to be the ruling voice if its not the best way forward for scoring.
Went with the wife and kids on a city trip this weekend . Just watched the fight . Scored rounds 1-2-3-8-10-11-12 for Canelo 115-113 Canelo
I wouldn't have made the 10 rounders that formed Series 14B a title match but we do want a fighting champion. You didn't lose in 14 which was the title defense. 14b was just 4 people that had free 10 rounds. It made sense to make matches. It does obviously effect the ELO rankings which i didn't take into account. However if Chuck Norris was your immediate challenger in 15 that would be awkward as you had faced him previously in 14b. If it needs me to make a decision then the title should not be on the line for a 10 rounder and neither should you vacate. You will defend against ELO ranking opponent in Series 15
@KiwiMan Thanks for scoring on this round. Happy to take your scores moving forward. Series 14: After 7 completed rounds: This content is protected This content is protected Series 14b: After 5 completed rounds: This content is protected This content is protected
Yes, there are a few loop-holes. Thankfully that one doesn't matter you KO'ed pablinov. I agree. It's simplest not to distinguish between wide/close UD when it was a SD/MD, after all the wide/close could've just been a forced pick due to someone getting in first. The other loop-hole is the border between wide and close UD For 12 rounders, it is 8-4 (close); 9-3 (wide). But what about 9-3 with a KD against, 8-4 with a knockdown for, or 8-3-1 with a 10-10 round? Likewise with 10 rounders 6-4 (close); 7-3 (wide). My suggestion is that we need to be consistent. For 10 rounders wide UD is overpowered as only one score is close 6-4. So, I suggest that 5-pt margins for 12 rounders and 3-pt margins for 10 rounders are both scored CLOSE. That makes it a draw between @Chuck Norris and I, I keep the title regardless, and the next challenge is via ELO, which I will do tonight.
Yes thanks for that Nelly. Good to have the precedent to follow in the future, even though it didn't matter in the end. So 10-rounders will just be for ELO rankings, a good way to move up more quickly. I suggest what @PinoyProdigy proposed: If the champion loses an interim 10 rounder, the title becomes vacant and the #1 and #2 ELO-ranked contenders fight it out. Last thing we need to sort out. @PinoyProdigy is working on historical WBK data from 2013 and 2015. Shall we put this into ELO when it's ready? Obviously due to the age it will be weighted less than this year's matches, but it will still have a significant effect, especially if people who competed in 2013/2015 make a comeback.
