Why did de la hoya question byrds scorecard but not any omyself" others...according to him he had canelo up 7-5 so 3 rounds difference to his in favour of canelo. But he hasn't said a word about the scorecard that had ggg 7-5 up which is 4 rounds different to his ie...an extra round difference in favour of ggg. If his scorecard was closer to byrds then why did he bring this up as "A lot of people are not understanding 118-110, just like myself" but not the card that had ggg up despite that being a bigger difference than his "perceived" scorecard?! Very strange......still a great fight look forward to the rematch!!
We can't be surprised that Oscar scored the fight for his guy. His job is to promote his fighter. However, he also was candid enough to bash on Byrd's scorecard, and he also said that he wouldn't have argued if the fight was scored 7-5 for Golovkin. So, he is admitting that his man didn't clearly win the fight. So, as terrible as that scorecard was, and as bad as I feel for GGG not getting the win that he deserved. I don't think that we can put the blood on Oscar's hands here. If he was part a conspiracy involving Byrd, he wouldn't have bashed her afterward. She would have the power to completely ruin his career by exposing him, so he would never poke a stick at that fire. I think that it's simply a matter of her being a terrible judge, and she needs to be removed from the sport.
On ESPN Heading into the decision, oddsmakers believed Golovkin had won the fight. International sportsbooks had Golovkin as high as a -500 favorite when live betting on the bout closed.
Even Cinnamonnelo himself knew he lost...he said he won 7-8 rounds and boxers always exaggerate by 3-4 rounds. Should have said he won 10-11 rounds.
All my Mrs knows about fights is pulling hair and scratching and woulda still scored that fight better than Byrd. Has her full card scores been shown yet?
In a close fight (which this wasn't), one can assume that fair judges might disagree one way or the other on one or a few of the rounds. So a victory by two rounds by one fighter is not out of the realm of possibility. 10-2 is ridiculous though.
Byrd's score card is indefensible. Even a guy as full of **** as Oscar, can't even attempt to support it. The fact that he spoke against it means nothing more than that Byrd is just that horrible of a judge, or was paid off. I think Byrd was influenced, but over did it and made it obvious. She may end up in the desert somewhere for the **** she pulled.
