Nelo has had the advantage of always coming into fights being the bigger man when he campaigned at 154. His punches don't have the same effect at 160 where he no longer is sporting a 10, 15 or 20 pound weight advantage over his foes. Just think about all the clean shots Chavez Jr ate....surely if Canelo brought up that power from 154, one or more of those punches in succession would have put Jr out. His punches just don't have the same effect against guys his own size or bigger.

 

Ooh so guys who don't punch hard but is very accurate is handicapped from the opening bell to guys who punch harder.. That's stupid.. Boxing need to change that to be fair to all styles...

 

Uhh yea man if you cant punch hard then too bad for you. Just like having a weak chin, bad stamina, or slow handspeed.

And if you punch hard, can take a punch, have good handspeed, or have great stamina then you get credit for that.

 

It's not like those at all.. The object is to punch and not get punched.. Not fight and not get tired, or fight but make sure you're fast...ect If I punch you, it should be a scoring shot.. You can't say oh he hit him 20 times, but they didn't hurt him so they don't count...

 

Nonsense so in your opinion a jab is not a scoring punch in boxing and isn't an effective punch as it does no damage on its own or have any effect on the opponent

 

Its not the amateurs the criteria is clean effectice punching if your opponent isnt phased by your shots then they are.not very effective

Canelo is a average puncher at JrMiddle/Middle..............check out the G man or The Hawk who had lights out power at JrMiddle/Middle, Canelo is not even in the same zipcode as those guys.

this is what's wrong with fans scoring fights because they just score rounds for who they want to give it to. Dude basically said that he gave rounds to someone receiving punches because the punches didn't hurt. And he tries to debate that bs he typed.
